Lolita Blog Carnival! ~ 5 Ways to Beat the Heat in Lolita Fashion!

Hello my pretty sparkly rays of sunshine! :3

After a very long while without joining one, I decided to participate in another Lolita Blog Carnival this week! ^w^ The subject for this week was...

5 Ways to Beat the Heat in Lolita Fashion!

I don't live in a place where it gets unbearably hot in the summer and I have a pretty high tolerance to heat itself (but let's not talk about sunlight XD). I don't know how much my tips will be helpful... ^w^'' But I decided to share them anyway. :3

1. Keep your clothes to a single layer only

My number one tip from when it's really hot outside is to keep your clothes to a single layer only. Wear only an OP or a skirt and blouse or cutsew combo. It may go without saying that the less layers you will have on your body, the cooler you will feel! ^w^ If you may wear a jumperskirt, chose a bolero or light cardigan over a blouse to cover your shoulders. ~

2. Ditch the wigs and favorise updos and braids hairstyles

Wearing wigs makes me feel hot even in the middle of winter so I can't imagine how uncomfortable it must be to wear one in summer. ^w^'' (That's pretty much why I don't wear wigs... XD) Also, for your hairstyle if you have longer hair you may prefer doing updos or braids, anything to free your neck from your hair so you are cooler. :3

3. Chose breathable fabrics

I also always favorise light cotton and chiffon fabrics in the summer. They are more breathable and it will be more comfortable outside in the heat. Avoid fabrics like wool, velvet and corduroy which doesn't make the air circulate as much. ~

4. Wear hats and/or carry a parasol

Direct sunlight on your head on a very hot day can make you feel more hot than necessary, so I would suggest wearing a straw hat or boater hat with your coordinate. (It's time to get out your Country Lolita outfits and flower prints!) If a hat isn't suitable for your outfit and you know you are going to be outside for a long time, I would suggest carrying around a parasol. They really do make a difference since you will always have your little spot of shade to keep you cooler! ~

5. Protect your skin from the sun and stay hydrated

This tip may be a more personal one that others, but I always find myself cooler when my skin isn't directly exposed to the sunlight. I have very sensitive skin and it gets worse under the sun so I always make sure to protect my arms, legs and face from the sun. I usually chose long sleeves over short sleeves in the summer so my arms can be covered and I carry around a pair of gloves to wear outside. Also, make sure you are wearing sunblock (which is more efficient than sunscreen because it block the sunrays instead of only treating your skin to protect it). Finally, don't forget to stay hydrated, bring a bottle of water or iced tea with you whenever you are out! ~

So that was my little tips on how to beat the heat in Lolita fashion! I hope you enjoyed reading it and they maybe you learned something? ^w^

Before you go, please take a look at the other blogs that have participated in this week's Lolita Blog Carnival and show them some love! ^w^

Spring Favourites! ~

Hello my sparkly blue skies filled with pretty puffy clouds! ~

I know it may be a bit late for this but I haven't found the time to write about it earlier... So here we go with my spring favourites for this year! ^w^

As usual, there is some clothing and accessories, a few beauty products, some food and also some lifestyle things! :3

HMHM Offwhite Blouse

I've fallen back in love with this offwhite blouse from HMHM this spring! ~ I've had this blouse for such a long time too! It's one of my comfiest blouses and I think it suits me perfectly! ^w^  I love the pretty crocheted lace and the cute little flowers buttons on it! ~ I think it goes very well with Country Lolita outfits too since it's such a simple blouse! :3

Bodyline Strawberry Wristcuffs

I enjoy wearing these wristcuffs so much during springtime! ^w^ I love the crocheted lace they used for them and the little crocheted strawberries with the cute little flowers on top, so pretty! :3 They were incredibly cheap too, I think I only paid around 5 or 6 USD for them! They are also super comfy to wear and I really enjoy wearing them with my outfits themed around strawberries! ^w^

Pink Pearly Ring

I've discovered this ring again this spring! ~ I love the little pearls inside and I like to wear it with pearl bracelets for an elegant touch in my outfits. ^w^ I also really like the little rhinestones in the middle, it's such a nicely detailed ring. :3 I also love the different shades of pink of the little pearls, I think it makes it more versatile and interesting. :3

Yves Rocher Eyeshadow in Rose Pivoine

I wanted to get a dark pink eyeshadow for such a long time and I finally got one for Nadeshicon's fashion show! ^w^ I've been really enjoying making gradient light to dark pink looks with it! ~ It's such a pretty tint of pink too! And it have shimmery glitters in it, which is always a good thing! :3

Bath & Body Works Pretty as a Peach Shower Gel

I've got this shower gel when I went to Quebec city for Nadeshicon at the beginning of April! ~ I didn't think I would like this scent as much as I do! ^w^ It's such a light but sugary scent and I've been really enjoying to use it during this springtime! :3 I regret not getting the body lotion too. ;w;

Seasonal Fruits & Flavours

Springtime for me rhymes with peaches, lemon and strawberries! XD; I'm glad I could enjoy yummy fresh fruits this spring. ~ I've been having a huge bowl of fresh peaches, strawberries or cherries with my breakfast almost everyday. ^w^'' I also baked some lemon cupcakes and some cherry cupcakes this season to enjoy the seasonal flavours at their fullest. :3

David's Tea Just Peachy Tea

(Can you sense a peach theme here, I don't know. XD) I've been really enjoying drinking iced teas with my meals this spring and this tea is my favourite one of this season! ^w^ It's best enjoyed iced but I had it hot and it's good too! ~

Prince's Flowers

This spring, the Prince literally showered me with flowers! ^w^'' I feel extremely grateful to him for bringing me fresh flowers, just because he knows it makes me very happy, especially during springtime! ~ He's so thoughtful and I love him so much I had to mention it in my favourites this season. ^w^

My New Friend Anne!

I know it may sound super silly to mention it in my favourites, but it have been something really important to me and I need to talk about it! XD; This spring, I met with another Harajuku fashion enthusiast in my hometown and I was so glad and grateful I met her! ^w^ It feel so special to know that someone from my hometown is also representing Harajuku fashion since I've been so lonely all these years back in the days! ^w^'' I am very thankful for this new friendship! ~

So this is what I've been enjoying during this springtime! ~ I'm really looking forward this summer too! ^w^ I have a bunch of plans, activities and events that I'm really excited about! :3

Until next time my perfectly sweet peaches! ~

Daily Outfits! ~ June 11th to June 16th!

Hello my cuddly bear paws! ~

This week, I've got a LOT of different outfits to show you. ^w^ Apparently I was very motivated last week and I decided to take pictures of my more casual outfits too, including a Fairy-Kei and an Otome outfit! ~ I'm very excited to share my outfits this week, so let's start! :3

~ Outfit from June 11th! ~

Hat; Taobao
Blouse; Anna House
Jumperskirt; Anna House
Socks; Secret Shop
Shoes; Bodyline
Bag; Taobao
Accessories; Paradise Rose & Offbrand

I wasn't very inspired on that day so I went for something kind of unusual in terms of colours schemes and themes. ^w^'' I decided to wear my red jumperskirt from Anna House with pink and in a Country Lolita way. I tried to keep an animals theme with my accessories but I think it looked a little odd... XD; I had a lot of compliments on my outfit at work though! ~

~ Outfit from June 12th! ~

Headbow; Oo Jia
Blouse; Dear Celine
Jumperskirt; Oo Jia
Socks; Secret Shop
Shoes; An*Ta*Na
Bag; Loris
Accessories; Kawaii Goods & Holley Tea Time

I've worn something a little bit more OTT on that day. ~ I paired my lilac Milky Planet jumperskirt with white and touches of pink. ^w^ I chose accessories made of yarn and themed around stars and rainbows for a very cute and colourful look! :3

~ Outfit from June 13th! ~

On that day I had an appointment at the hospital so I took the day off from work. ~

Headbow; Chocomint
T-shirt; Kawaii Machine (Now called Starchaser)
Skirt; Holley Tea Time
Socks; Bodyline
Shoes; Bodyline
Bag; Loris
Accessories; Holley Tea Time & Offbrand

I went for a super casual Fairy-Kei look on that day. ~ I don't wear Fairy-Kei a lot to work since the skirts are a bit shorter and I don't want to bother with it... ^w^'' I went for something very comfy in a pink and blue colour scheme with a simple t-shirt and accessories themed around stars. ~

~ Outfit from June 14th! ~

Headdress; Dream of Lolita
Blouse; Kidsyoyo
Jumperskirt; Dream of Lolita
Socks; Secret Shop
Shoes; Bodyline
Bag; Loris
Accessories; Paradise Rose

I feel like I didn't want to spend a lot of time thinking about my outfit on that day so I went with a very comfy blouse and one of the comfiest jumperskirts I own. ^w^ I paired my blue Lovely Forest jumperskirt with light pink and accessories themed around bunnies to complete the theme of the outfit. :3

~ Outfit from June 15th! ~

A casual Otome outfit to drive around and do some errands. ~

Headbow; Anna House
Shirt; Offbrand
Skirt; Offbrand
Socks; Bodyline
Shoes; Bodyline
Bag; Loris

I don't usually take picture of these super casual Otome outfits I wear on my days off, but I felt like it would be interesting to share the outfits I wear out of Lolita fashion too, I guess. ^w^'' So this is an example of what I wear on days I don't feel like dressing up, styling my hair or putting on some makeup. XD;

~ Outfit from June 16th! ~

This is the outfit I wore for a BBQ Picnic Party I hosted at my house last weekend! ^w^

Hat; Taobao
Cutsew; Rose Melody
Skirt; Oo Jia
Socks; Secret Shop
Shoes; Bodyline
Bag; Taobao
Accessories; Paradise Rose

I decided to dress in Country Lolita because it seems like the perfect thing to wear for a picnic, but I still wanted to be comfy and casual since I would be cooking and having guests over and all... So I paired my blue gingham skirt with a comfy peachy pink cutsew for a simple but cute look. ~ I completed the outfit with jewelry themed around roses. :3

So that was my outfits from last week! ^w^ I'm pretty proud about the variety of the themes, colours and styles! ~ Also, please let me know if you would be interested in seeing more casual Otome outfits from my days off! They aren't usually very creative but if some of you are curious I can try to show them to you more often maybe? :3

Until next time my charming lilac bouquets! ~
