Oo Jia Blouse Review!

Hello my sweetest brownies! ~

Last week I received a blouse I ordered from Oo Jia so I decided to write a little review about it on my blog. :3

Here is a picture of the blouse I got!

I wanted a blue short sleeved blouse to wear with skirts because the other two blue blouses I own look awkward with skirts. ^w^'' So I ordered one custom made from Oo Jia based on a design from Angelic Pretty. ~

Making & Shipping Time

As usual with Oo Jia you have to be prepared to wait a long time. ^w^'' I emailed her back in January for this blouse and she didn't get back to me until late February (she was in vacations because of the Chinese new year, which is understandable though). She started to make the blouse the first week of March and I received it the third week of May which is kinda average for custom made pieces that ships from China. ~

Quality & Price

The prices for a custom made short sleeved blouse from Oo Jia is 70$ USD which was around 98$ CAD at the time because our dollar is totally crappy right now. XD; But, to me it is totally worth it to have such an amazing quality piece custom made to my size!

Here are some closeups of the lace, buttons and the details of the frills. ~

The fabric used is a quality cotton along with some detailed quality cotton lace which match perfectly with the shade of blue used for the blouse. It's a nice powdery sax blue that matches nicely with the pieces I already own. :3 The blouse is very well made, I couldn't find any flaws or even lose threads!

Fit

Probably the most important point when you are a plus-sized Lolita and you order custom made pieces to fit you, it have to fit you well! XD; I can say that the pieces I own from Oo Jia are probably my most comfortable and flattering pieces, but this blouse fits especially well!

Here's a worn picture!

I really like when my blouses are roomy enough I can go on with my day and not worry about my buttons gapping or getting undone when I sit and stand up. ^w^'' It have quite a lot of breathing room at the waist and bust which is something I really like! The sleeves also fits perfectly, they are the perfect length to cover the top of my arms and the band fits nicely without being too snug. ~

Overall

I am super happy with the blouse! Even if it took a long time to be made and to arrive, it was worth to wait to have such an amazing quality blouse with lovely materials, exactly the colour that I wanted and that fits more than perfectly! ~ I have to resist to not buy another exact same one in lilac. ^w^''

I decided to also show you the first outfit I have made with the blouse, which is what I've worn yesterday! :3

~ Outfit from Tuesday May 23th! ~

I've worn this outfit for work!

Headbow; Miko Lolita
Blouse; Oo Jia
Skirt; Dollscrops
Socks; Bodyline
Shoes; An*Tai*Na
Bag; Loris
Accessories; Holley Tea Time & Offbrand

I've wanted to coordinate my new blue blouse with a colourful printed skirt that I own. ~ So I paired it with blue polka dots socks and simple accessories to accentuate my blouse a little more. :3

So that was it for today! ~ I'll probably make another big outfit post this weekend. ^w^

Until next time my sweetest magical teddies! ~

Lolita Tips! ~ How do I coordinate a Lolita outfit!

Hello my sparkly red cherries! :3

Today I decided I would write a post about how do I coordinate a Lolita outfit! For those of you who may have following me for a while, you may know that I wear Lolita fashion on a daily basis and that I've been wearing the fashion for a very, very long time. ^w^'' So that probably makes you wonder how so I come up with ideas for my outfits on such a regular basis?

There are many things that would inspire me to wear a particular outfit on that day and I usually make my choice according to something very specific; a main piece, a certain blouse, a colour scheme, an accessory, the way I want to style my hair, etc...

If it's a main piece (skirt, jumperskirt, op) that inspire me to create an outfit, I will usually go with the theme and the colours of the print. These outfit are probably my less adventurous and the most boring ones. XD; But sometimes it's nice to have some simple ideas on hand for days that you are particularly busy.

If it's a blouse (or a cutsew) I will mentally discard any main pieces that doesn't match with the blouse well. It will leave me with a choice of main pieces and I sincerely usually choose randomly from that, it can lead to some interesting choices. XD;

If it's a colour scheme, I will usually mentally select all of the main pieces and blouses I would feel like wearing on that day and I chose a blouse and a main piece that matches the colour scheme I want to wear. I usually chose the main piece first so I can grab a blouse that fits well with the main piece.

If it's an accessory, it sometimes lead to the most experimental and exciting outfits. XD; I'll chose a main piece that would match nicely with the accessory and I build my outfit from that. I also take into account the texture of the accessory (pearls, mocomoco yarn, plastic, tulle, etc...) to chose a general vibe to maintain through the outfit!

It it's my hair,  it will usually determine the vibe I want to give to outfit; If I want to braid my hair, I'll probably go for a country lolita outfit with my gingham, strawberry or flowery pieces. If I want to wear them straight I'll go with something more casual that doesn't need a giant headbow or sailor lolita. If my hair have braid pleats in them I'll tend to go for something more OTT and playful. If I want to curl them I'll go for an outfit that have a more elegant and ladylike vibes, etc...

As for the inspiration, I'll often go with the weather, how I feel, what I've got to do on that day, something I'll be eating, the people I'm going to hang out with, etc... Each day have something to offer me so I take inspiration from that to chose something to kick start my coordinate! ^w^

It also helps a lot that I have a bunch of clothes and accessories to chose from! I would suggest to keep the main colours in your closet to 3 or 4 colours and 1 or 2 colours for accents at most. I also tend to prefer having a bunch of versatile accessories that I can wear with a lot of outfits that some very specific accessories that can only works with 1 or 2 coords. I also tend to keep the same themes through my accessory collection; bows, stars, hearts, bunnies, ponies, sweets and strawberries are the most common for me. ~

I hope this little article helps you how I choose my coordinates everyday. :3 Until next time my sweet little wind fairies! ~

The seasons & why they became an inspiration for me. ~

Hello my sweet little green sprouts. ~

Today I wanted to get back to the roots of what this blog was for. At first, I wanted to use my blog to share whatever would makes me happy and inspire me at the moment, so that's what this blog post is about. ~

I used to really hate hot weather; spring and summer were some dreadful times for me and I would get super upset as soon as the snow would melt away. My skin is very sensitive to sunlight (due to medication & genetics) so that would mean I would need to hide for 12 hours a day for a full 5 months, almost...

A couple years ago, I wanted to try Country Lolita. Obviously the most suitable time to wear this fashion was in summer or spring... I slowly got to fall in love with the natural vibes of Country Lolita. The strawberries, the delicate flowers, the gingham patterns, the straw accessories and the simple coordinates would make my heart skip a beat every time. Because of Country Lolita, the fashion of spring and summer, those things slowly drifted away from their negative meanings and would start to bring me joy. :3

This is at the point in my life where I decided it would benefit me if I would get grounded with nature. I didn't wanted to feel negative about the seasons or the weather anymore. I wanted to feel connected to them and to live through them. There's always a little sparkle of happiness you can find within everything all around you. I started to practice mindful living through nature and the seasons.

And that's how I became at peace with all the seasons and all the weathers...

I would start to look at the natural world with a sparkly eye. Those dewy leaves on a spring morning, the water puddle after the rain, the sprouting leaves that are just a little too light green yet, the scent of that crispy autumn afternoon, the sparkly immaculate white snow on a stormy night.

During the last year or so, I even started to try to eat seasonally with more local fresh fruits and veggies. To eat the products that are in season and to even try to grow and eat my own herbs would makes me feel even more connected spiritually to nature. I would feel like I am a whole with all my surrounding and that I am growing trough the earth too, with my own little roots and the little sprout on my head. ~
