Glitter Tale Review! ~

Hello my sweet little shortcakes! :3

I'm back on my blog today with a review from the shop Glitter Tale! ~

They are an indie brand from Vietnam who specialize in custom Lolita clothes, both in size and design! ^w^ I've been eyeing their shop for a while and this summer I decided to take the plunge and finally order from them!

I decided to treat myself to the Perfume Kitties jumperskirt in the pink colourway along with the matching headbow and something I've been wanting for a while; a yellow blouse! ^w^

~ Ordering Process, Communication, Making & Shipping Time~

I sent them a message on July 12th through their Facebook page asking if they could still make the Perfume Kitty jumperskirt and if it was possible to make the blouse I wanted in pastel yellow! They replied a couple of hours later with a link to a google form that I had to complete for my order. It was the first time that I was ordered through a google form like this but the process was pretty straightforward and simple! ^w^

I then realized I forgot to ask though the order form for a matching headbow so I messaged them about it straight away and they offered me different style options for the matching headbow and also asked if I wanted any other matching accessories (like bonnet, choker, beret, wristcuffs, tulle overlay, etc...) but I just chose the matching headbow! ~

They sent me the invoice after that and I paid the same day! :3

I chose EMS for the shipping because of the pandemic I thought it would be the most reliable one but it ended up being super pricy (68 USD/87$ CAD) and I wasn't expecting it; but with the current state of the world I understand that's how it is... ^w^''

I don't remember if they mentioned it in the order form but they didn't tell me how much time it was going to take for my order to be ready, but I assumed it would take at least 6 weeks... XD

So I massaged them on September 7th asking if my order was going to be ready soon and they told it should be ready around the end of the month. I then forgot about it until I received a message from them on October 18th with a picture of my dress and they asked me to confirm my shipping address again which I did. I thought they sent my package the same day BUT they messaged me on November 5th telling me that they shipped my package along with a tracking number. I finally received my order on November 26th! ^w^

I wasn't in a hurry so I didn't worry of follow up too much about my order but they were very prompt to reply to my messaged whenever I sent them and they were very friendly too! :3

~ Sweet Princess Blouse in Yellow ~

I've been wanting a yellow blouse for a while because I had so many dresses with yellow in the print but I didn't know if the colour would suit me well... After seeing my friend Mikki doing some awesome yellow coordinates I decided that I wanted to try for myself too! OwO

~ Quality & Price ~

The quality of the materials is simply AMAZING! It's one of the highest quality blouses I own and I feel like it's going to last very well to the test of time! As a daily/lifestyle Lolita this is something very important to me! ^w^''

Even though the blouse is simple, the details are very nicely made and you can tell they put a lot of effort into the confection of the piece, the buttons are also very elegant! :3

I paid 60$ USD which was around 77$ CAD for me and for that price, the blouse is really a steal!! I'm used to pay a little bit more for my blouses (more around the 90-100$ range) especially because I get them custom sized, so this blouse is definitely worth the price I paid for it, hands down! ~

~ Fit ~

As a very plus size Lolita, the fit of my clothes is of course very important to me! ^w^

I am amazed how this blouse simply fit me so perfectly! I am always a bit hesitant to buy blouses because my measurements are not very conventional but I am so happy their blouses fit me nicely! :3 I now know that if I need another custom sized blouse in an unusual colour that is not available anywhere I can always order from them!

I would personally have added another button at the bottom of the blouse to close it up entirely because it looks a bit awkward with skirts as it is right now... I prefer to wear my blouses over my skirts. I know it's more of a personal problem; the blouse look exactly as pictured and I didn't knew how it would look on me. ^w^'' So I think I'm going to add a couple of "invisible buttons" on the inside so I can close it up all the way, it's a pretty easy fix! :3

~ Perfume Kitties Jumperskirt in Pink ~

I really spoiled myself with that jumperskirt, especially because I don't have a jumperskirt with a cat theme yet and this print seemed so perfect! ^w^ I love the gradient and the colour scheme, it's such a pretty dress! *w*

~ Quality & Price ~

The quality is incredible, I really feel like it's the biggest quality jumperskirt I own! *w* The skirt is full, the chiffon is very soft but not thin and I don't know the material for the lining but it is SOOO soft! :3

The print is nice and crisp, the ruffles are so nicely made, I'm impressed and overjoyed to own that jumperskirt now! ^w^

I paid 125$ USD/160$ CAD for it and it's really worth the price for that amazing quality! I also believe there was no extra charge for the custom size so it's really awesome! ~

I got the matching headbow for 25 USD/32$ CAD and I love it, it keeps it's shape nicely and I love that the headband have the print on it also! ^^

~ Fit ~

The jumperskirt fits nicely with a lot of room to spare! It's even a little bit big on the upper part of my bust but I could adjust that with the lacing in the front! ~ The skirt part have a LOT of fabric and it feels so flowy and nice! :3 The length is perfect also and it's very comfy; I could even use it as a nightgown if I wanted to since it's so comfy and soft, haa! ;w;

Overall I really recommend them if you want something custom made and nice quality! They have a lot of original prints, great communication, so many options for matching accessories and their custom sizing is really good, especially since there is no extra cost for it! ^w^

I hope my review was helpful and that your enjoyed it! ~

Until next time my precious soft kittens, stay safe and take care! <3

Soufflesong Review! ~

Hello my cute sparkly pink pompoms! ~

I'm back on my blog today with something very exciting; A review of my purchase from Soufflesong! ^^;

I got three jumperskirt from them back in spring. :3 I wanted to get some new main pieces to freshen up my closet since it's been a long while since I haven't gotten any new main pieces! ^^; I thought about it for a while and I wanted to get things I didn't already have; either in colour, style or themes! ~ So I ended up getting the Don't Eat Bunny jumperskirt in lilac, the Japanese Fortune Cat jumperskirt in pink and the Strawberry Rabbit apron jumperskirt in red! ~

I'm going to review Soufflesong as a whole as well as an in-depth review (price, quality, fit) of all of the pieces with also a little blurb as why I chose them for my closet! :3

~ Communication, Making & Shipping Time ~

First of all, it was very easy to use the Soufflesong website. I already made an account before so I just logged in to place my first order with them. It's not the first pieces I got from Soufflesong but it's the first time I ordered directly from their website! ^^;

They have a currency converter on their website so I just set up the currency to Canadian Dollars so I knew the price I saw for the items were the price I was going to pay (which isn't always possible sometimes with custom "oversize" fees when you order with a shopping service, for exemple).

I was lucky enough to take advantage of their spring sale which was 30% off any order over 150$, I think? Since I was ordering a bunch I ended up saving 166$ CAD on my order which was a blessing! (That's pretty much why I got the Don't Eat Bunny jumperskirt since with the discount it ended up being just a couple of dollars more than my actual budget! It's almost like I got a free dress which is awesome! XD)

I didn't really get a confirmation email for my order, just the Paypal receipt but I could easily track my order with my account on their website anyway so it didn't bother me. I made my order on May 2nd, they started to process it on May 5th, they finished it and shipped it on September 7th and I got it on September 9th! So it took a little more than 4 months processing/making time and 2 days for shipping! ~

The making time is average for custom made clothing in my opinion, it wasn't really faster or longer than I expected. I was prepared to wait even a bit longer because of the pandemic but the delays were very acceptable to me. The shipping however was VERY fast! I chose EMS (which I think they changed to DHL because it was delivered by DHL?) and I paid 61$ for shipping which is usually reasonable for EMS. (Honestly I would usually pick the cheaper option for shipping but it wasn't available because of the pandemic so I just went with EMS lol...)

So now, onto the actual dresses! ^^;

* Please note that I ordered all the dresses in plus size custom so the price I paid for the item is including the custom fees which are pretty high (around 45$ CAD for each item). As a plus size Lolita that is used to paying additional fees to have my clothes in my size this isn't a surprise and I think it's a perfectly reasonable amount for custom made clothing. However if you aren't used to this the higher prices can maybe shock you, especially for offbrand/Taobao dresses, so please take that into consideration, thank you! :3

Also, for review purposes, here was my measurements at the time I ordered the dresses;
~ Bust; 147 cm
~ Waist; 129 cm
And I am around 4'11'' tall!

~ Dont Eat Bunny Jumperskirt in Lilac ~

I didn't had any lilac jumperskirt with bunnies on them and pretty much all of my lilac jumperskirts have a very OTT/colourful print on them (except my very first jumperskirt I got like 10 years ago, Royal Poodle). So I thought it would be nice to add to my closet since it's a very versatile piece too for daily wear! ^^;

~ Quality & Price ~

The jumperskirt in itself was 172$ CAD before the discount. It didn't had matching head accessories for the print (at least I don't think so?). It came with 4 detachable ribbon bows and the lacing for the back. I was very happy that the cream bows from the stock photos ended up being detachable because I thought they clashed a bit with the white lace on the dress so I was going to try to remove them anyway... XD;

They used two different prints on the dress; one for the top part/bodice and one for the skirt part of the dress. It isn't exactly like the stock picture but actually I don't mind at all! I really love the print they used for the bodice of my jumperskirt, especially the little blue lollypops that don't really appear on the bottom of the dress! :3 The bunnies on the print are very cute without being too cartoony like most sweet prints are usually! I would say this print and jumperskirt cut are on the cusp between Sweet and Classic but like... 75% sweet! XD;

The fabric in itself feels like a polyester blend and it's very light and airy, perfect for summer! ^^; However the dress have a bit of trouble keeping its shape because of that... Also they used a light linen/chiffon type fabric for the lining which can sometimes get stuck on the inside of the dress... You have to make sure the lining is perfectly straight and placed nicely under your dress because it easily fold on itself... I have troubles explaining what I mean but overall I think the choice of fabric for the dress and especially the lining isn't the best in my opinion...

However, I really like the lace they used! They used two different types of lace for the bodice and the bottom hem on the dress but I think they match very nicely together and it's very cute and elegant! :3

There is shirring on the back and the straps have button to keep them in place but they aren't truly adjustable because there is only one button hole... ^^'' You can also see the weird puffy chiffon lining better on this picture too!

~ Fit ~

* Please don't mind my very basic outfit, I just threw on a blouse and socks to showcase the pieces when worn these aren't actual outfit pictures... XD;

Out of all the dresses I got from my order, I think this one is the one that doesn't fit me as good... Not because it's too small but because I think it may have been kind of a higher waist dress? It sits around 5cm higher than my actual waist and I personally think high waist dresses doesn't fit me as good and they aren't as comfortable to me... It's also a teeny tiny bit big around the upper part of my torso, but I haven't tried it on with the back lacing so it may fix that problem! ^^; However I much more prefer my dresses to be too big than too small so it doesn't bother me that much! ~

~ Japanese Fortune Cat Jumperskirt in Pink ~

I know, I know, it's another pink jsk... ^^'' But this one is very much wa/qi themed which is a style I never tried before! I think the reference is subtile enough with the tassels and the print which makes it more wearable in itself. I also justified it by telling myself it would be a nice "convention" dress or since I go out to eat Japanese food a lot it would make the perfect outfit! ^^; I can't wait to find more wa/qi themed accessories for this one! ~

~ Quality & Price ~

The jumperskirt was 165$ CAD with an additional 16$ CAD for the matching headbow before the discount!

The dress came with a removable Sailor collar, the lacing for the back and a detachable bow with tassels. I don't really plan on wearing the Sailor collar with the dress since I think it doesn't really match with the theme of the print? But the collar is really nicely made with beautiful lace on it though! (Honestly, I might wear it for my Fairy-Kei/Magical Girl outfits!)

The dress also have non detachable waist ties with some pretty lace on it! I usually remove the waist ties from my dresses most of the time but these ones I think I'm going to keep them since they are so cute and detailed! ~

The amount of details on the bodice of the dress is awesome! I love the pretty lace and cute heart shaped buttons which matches the white details on the print! ^^; The cat ears on the bodice is a cute touch without being too obvious when worn and it matches the cats on the print also! The print is quite simple but very cute and elegant too! I thought that this kind of print theme would be too OTT to wear it out but since the details of the print are mostly at the bottom hem and they aren't too big I don't think it's too overwhelming at all! It is much more wearable than I thought honestly. I love the fact that they used the same chiffon for the frill at the bottom, the two-toned details at the waist and the details on the ears!

The fabric on this jumperskirt is the same polyester blend kind that they used but it feels a tiny bit heavier. They also used to same kind of lining that you have to be very careful about it folding awkwardly under your dress... ^^''

The dress have shirring on the back and the straps are actually adjustable with buttons this time since there are two holes for them! XD;

I love the detachable tassel bow and they have it modeled at the waist in the stock picture but I think that for my size the bow is a bit too tiny to be worn that way... I tried to wear in the center top (over the white buttons) but it wouldn't stay put nicely because the polyester blend fabric they used is too light so the bow would just flip down awkwardly... ^^'' I need to find a way to make it work since I love that little tassel bow so much! ;w;

The headbow is really pretty and is a good size for my head! It looks pretty big when it's not worn but the tails of the bow lies nicely against your head and it looks very lovely and elegant! I love the fact that they used ribbon for the second layer of the bow, I think it's a nice contrast with the printed fabric! ^^;

~ Fit ~

I wasn't sure about the waist details and the cut of it but it really does flatter my body nicely! Out of all the jumperskirts I got, I think this one fits me the best! The waist sit nicely at my natural waist, there isn't any parts that are too big and the dress fits me perfectly with a little room to spare! I would say that the shirring can stretch around 10cm more!

~ Strawberry Rabbit Apron Jumperskirt in Red ~

I wanted a red country Lolita themed jumperskirt for so long! ;3; So when I saw that dress I was hooked! XD; My sweet Lolita self actually prefer it in the pink colourway but since I already have a pink dress with strawberries (Milky Berry) I thought it would be wiser to get the red colourway to add more variety into my closet! ^^; It's also my first red printed jsk! ~ I also got the headdress with it and the apron is detachable so it can be worn in a more simple way or in a more OTT Country way (is that even a thing? XD) with the apron and headdress for meetups/conventions! :3

~ Quality & Price ~

The dress was 175$ CAD and I also got the matching headdress which was 25$ CAD before the discount. The dress came with a detachable apron and some lacing for the back.

The bodice have a great amount of details and lacing without being too overwhelming! I especially love the crochet type lace and the gingham ribbons, such a cute little touch! ~ There is some cute heart shaped buttons that matches the ones on the apron! ^^;

They used another kind of lace for the bottom of the dress but I think it still matches nicely and I love the plain red ruffles too. ~

The print is so detailed and vibrant! I had a hard time finding more detail pictures of the print so I didn't really know what to expect but it's perfect for me! ;w; I love the pearly details on it, it makes the jumperskirt look more elegant I think! ~ I love the way the little rosettes are made with a lot of frills and the printed laced details, so cute! ^w^

The dress in itself is kind of a muted red which I think suit Sweet Lolita (and my personal taste) very nicely and it isn't too striking with the print in itself. I also love that some of the strawberries are more true red and some others are more of a raspberry pink colour, which matches perfectly with the heart shaped buttons actually! ^^; It's kind of hard to pick up the true tone of the colours on camera... ^^''

The fabric is also a polyester blend but since they also used a polyester for the lining this time it doesn't bother me as much! Out of all the dresses, this one I would say the polyester is a more high quality and thicker, it doesn't feel cheap and the dress feels also a little bit warmer when worn.

The dress also have a bunch of shirring on the back! On this jumperskirt, the straps aren't adjustable but I don't mind at all, I even think it's more comfortable this way honestly.

The apron is incredibly cute!! ;w; I think that they sent me the same apron that they send everyone so it isn't custom made so it looks a bit small on me since I am larger but honestly I don't mind at all! It makes me feel like a cute little 50's diner waitress! XD; I actually forgot that the apron had a pocket on it and it's such a cute little detail, I love it so much! ;w; It also have matching heart buttons (the ones on the jumperskirt are smaller) but I think it's a very nice touch that they matched the buttons! ;3;

The matching headdress is a little bit long for my personal liking but it's still wearable for me! ~ It came with two alligator hairclips glued on the inside which I removed because I am not about that life... XD; The lace they used is very beautiful, detailed and nice quality! I love the organza ribbons too, even if they are a bit of a cream colour but they match nicely with the cream yellow-ish pearl details on the print so it doesn't bother me too much... ^^''

~ Fit ~

The dress fits me like a glove also! ^^; I think it's very flattering on me. ~ I love the little "bib" part, it's my first dress with that kind of detail and I love how it looks on me! ^w^ It is a teeny tiny bit longer than the other dresses (maybe 2-3cm longer max) but that doesn't bother me at all! Out of all the dresses I got, this one is the one with probably the most room to spare! There is a bunch of shirring and it's very stretchy! It can stretch at least 12-15cm comfortably, which is always something I like; I prefer having too much room than not enough! XD;

~ Overall ~

Overall I am very satisfied with my Soufflesong order! It's honestly worth every single dollar I spent and I am very grateful I could take advantage of their spring sale! ^^; I'm happy that everything fits well enough for me! ~ I would gladly order from Soufflesong again, I still have a couple of pieces from them on my wishlist, hehe! :3

I love everything I got and I can't wait to put together nice outfits with these pieces! I am glad I took the time to think about what I truly needed in my closet to make it more balanced and add some variety to it! I love that there is a mix between more casual/daily pieces and more OTT/special occasion pieces too! ~

Also, stay tuned for proper outfit pictures with these pieces in the next weeks! :3

Until next time my wonderfully sweet pink strawberry macarons! Stay safe and take care! ~

Colourpop Makeup Review! ~

Hello my soft lilac pony manes! :3

I'm back on my blog today with another makeup review, this time from Colourpop! ^^;

I know I am doing quite a lot of makeup/beauty products reviews lately but that's because it's one of my personnal interests I am the most into right now and I just really want to share my new purchases and my happiness with you! ~

So here is what I got; Three eyeshadow palettes, one lipstick and one highlighter! ~

I placed my order on March 26th and I received it on May 29th. I did receive a confirmation email when I placed my order but I didn't receive any confirmation that my order was shipped though. I don't know if it's always like this or it's because of the pandemic but I thought it was worth to mention.

Also, please keep in mind that I am very much a beginner when it comes to experimenting with makeup! Even if I wear makeup pretty much everyday since my early teens I've only been recently trying new colours, products and brands! I'm reviewing the products based on the best of my knowledge but I hope it can be useful anyway! :3

Let's start with the lipstick! ^w^

~ Lippie Stix Lipstick ~

I got it in the colour "I Heart This Lippie" and it was 7$ USD. ~

I think that with Colourpop since it's so affordable, they don't put as much emphasis on the packaging of their products. It's pretty simple and it does the job but it feels kind of cheap and it's not very much aesthetically pleasing... XD;

The colour is very opaque and pigmented; it doesn't appear patchy on the lips at all and it's very full coverage. There's a good colour payoff with only one swipe. It's a very low effort lipstick, you don't have to swipe it several times to get the colour to be even. However it's not very much buildable as a colour; you can't really tone the colour down by applying less product, it's either 100% opaque or you get nothing on your lips... XD; It's good for people who like bright colours that are as flashy as they appear in the tube. It lasted me through my work shift without really fading and it lasted longer than the average lipstick where you can just swipe it off. It wasn't difficult to remove though and you could try to wipe it off without makeup remover and it would be a bit difficult but doable.

I also thought when I first applied it that the formula was a bit drying on the lips... I fixed that by applying a chapstick beforehand and I didn't had a problem with how it felt on my lips but the product was still feeling dry by itself though and because of that it's a bit hard to apply for me as it's not very smooth to apply.

~ Pros ~

~ Good colour payoff, very pigmented
~ Last longer than the average lipstick I am used to

~ Cons ~

~ Not buildable as a colour
~ A bit drying on the lips, the product feels very dry

Now, the highlighter. ~

~ Super Shock Highlighter ~

I got the highlighter in the colour "Spellbound" for 8$ USD! ~

Firstly, I love the colour!! It's a bit more pinkish than I thought it would be from the pictures on the website but they don't have any swatches of their highlighters, at least not that I noticed?

The formula is a bit weird to get used to, their "super shock" line is a bit creamy and spongy, it's hard to describe the texture and it's one that I've never seen before in makeup. They suggest that you apply it with your fingers and that's what I did! It does feels quite light but a bit oily at the same time... I would not recommend the formula if you have a very oily skin or if you tend to sweat a lot. The colour payoff is nice and it's very buildable as a product. I found that if you "tap" your fingers you get a bit more payoff than if you "swipe" it. Each application process worked for me and it's good for different purposes or looks. ~ The product is very glittery and appear more pink until it catches the light, when it does it's more like a rose-gold/white glow!

Out of all the products I got from Colourpop, I think it's the one that doesn't last as long. I don't know if it's because of the formula, maybe I'm sweating too much but I find that the colour/glitter does fade out after a couple hours of wear, sadly... ;w;

I've used it as a cheek highlight, almost like a blush on the highest points of my cheeks since it's a bit rosy and I liked the effect. ~ I also like using it across my nose bridge perpendicular to it so it looks like a soft blushy highlight? XD; I don't know if that's really how you are supposed to use highlighter but I like how it looks on me so that's how I'm gonna keep using it I guess... XD;

~ Pros ~

~ Very nice colour, duo chromatic shimmers and great amount of glitters
~ Buildable, good for different looks/feels

~ Cons ~

~ Formula is a bit weird to get used to
~ Feels a bit oily on the face
~ Not very long lasting product

Now onto the eyeshadow palettes! ^^; I'm going to review the colour/shades individually and then the eyeshadows/formula as a whole. ~

~ Eyeshadow Palettes ~

I got the palettes for 12$ USD each.

~ Ooh La La ~

I thought I wouldn't use most of the more "muted" and darker shades life Soft Core, Trove and Caddy but honestly after experimenting with this palette I love all of them! ^^'' Big Sugar along with Moon Struck as a highlight have been my signature pink eye look since I got the palette! XD The shades are super wearable and they are really nice for both daily and more glam looks. ~

~ Lilac You A Lot ~

Again, I was prepared to sulk the more muted shades for this palette but I found them useful as an "under eye" colour, for when you need something that is still pigmented but not too flashy. ^^; I love the colour Imagine That for this and I can't wait to use Iffy and Filtered for a good purple Gothic Lolita look! :3

~ Blue Moon ~

I really thought I wouldn't use most of this palette and I was getting it mostly to dupe my blue eyeshadow from Yves Rocher (the colours Moonlite and Starry Eyed were close to it) but I tried to make a light to dark blue look the other day with Fine China and Starry Eyed and I really liked it! It doesn't appear as dark as on the swatch and it's very wearable even along pastel shades for me! ^^; I also made a look with Tide Pool on my friend Mason when I got the palette and it's such a fun colour with a nice finish, I really want to use it soon! *v*

Overall, all the shades from the eyeshadow palettes are very pigmented, much more than my Yves Rocher singles eyeshadows or the Little Twin Stars palette from Sugarpill!

At first when I did my first makeup look I thought that the colours were almost too pigmented and not buildable but it was because I clearly used too much product for the look I was going for... ^^'' A little really goes a long way and even if the pan sizes appear small, you don't need a lot of product to achieve a nice colour payoff. All you need is just one swipe and one coat and the colour is almost as it appear in the pan, it's awesome! ^^; The only one that I found a little less pigmented was the lilac one and you can kind of tell from my swatches that the colours are more sheer/pastel but even with that they are still more pigmented than my Yves Rocher eyeshadows.

Also there are pretty much no fallouts, the product feels nice and light on my eyes even if I am wearing 2-3 eyeshadow colours + an highlight up to my brows... XD; It's also been holding up pretty well through the day and the colours stay vibrant! ~

Seriously, for 12$ each palette it's pretty much the best product I even got the chance to try. Even if it appears that you don't get a lot of product, I don't really mind re-buying palettes like this each time I run out. XD; The colours also nicely work together to create complete and more complex eye looks, I really love it! :3

~ Pros ~

~ Very pigmented, nice colour payoff and a little goes a long way
~ Each of the shades in the palettes nicely work together
~ Quite long lasting

~ Cons ~

~ Pan sizes may be a bit small

I'm also going to share a few makeup looks I did with my new makeup so you can see them in action! ^^;

I don't remember the exact shades I used but the first one was made mostly with the Ooh La La palette, the second one with Ooh LaLa and Blue Moon palettes and the third one with Lilac You A Lot palette. ~

So I hope you enjoyed my review! ^^; I mostly recommend Colourpop for their eyeshadow palettes and their lipsticks but they are quite nice for when you want to experiment with makeup but you want something affordable! ~

Until next time my sweet strawberry milkshakes, take care and stay safe! :3
