Colourpop Makeup Review! ~

Hello my soft lilac pony manes! :3

I'm back on my blog today with another makeup review, this time from Colourpop! ^^;

I know I am doing quite a lot of makeup/beauty products reviews lately but that's because it's one of my personnal interests I am the most into right now and I just really want to share my new purchases and my happiness with you! ~

So here is what I got; Three eyeshadow palettes, one lipstick and one highlighter! ~

I placed my order on March 26th and I received it on May 29th. I did receive a confirmation email when I placed my order but I didn't receive any confirmation that my order was shipped though. I don't know if it's always like this or it's because of the pandemic but I thought it was worth to mention.

Also, please keep in mind that I am very much a beginner when it comes to experimenting with makeup! Even if I wear makeup pretty much everyday since my early teens I've only been recently trying new colours, products and brands! I'm reviewing the products based on the best of my knowledge but I hope it can be useful anyway! :3

Let's start with the lipstick! ^w^

~ Lippie Stix Lipstick ~

I got it in the colour "I Heart This Lippie" and it was 7$ USD. ~

I think that with Colourpop since it's so affordable, they don't put as much emphasis on the packaging of their products. It's pretty simple and it does the job but it feels kind of cheap and it's not very much aesthetically pleasing... XD;

The colour is very opaque and pigmented; it doesn't appear patchy on the lips at all and it's very full coverage. There's a good colour payoff with only one swipe. It's a very low effort lipstick, you don't have to swipe it several times to get the colour to be even. However it's not very much buildable as a colour; you can't really tone the colour down by applying less product, it's either 100% opaque or you get nothing on your lips... XD; It's good for people who like bright colours that are as flashy as they appear in the tube. It lasted me through my work shift without really fading and it lasted longer than the average lipstick where you can just swipe it off. It wasn't difficult to remove though and you could try to wipe it off without makeup remover and it would be a bit difficult but doable.

I also thought when I first applied it that the formula was a bit drying on the lips... I fixed that by applying a chapstick beforehand and I didn't had a problem with how it felt on my lips but the product was still feeling dry by itself though and because of that it's a bit hard to apply for me as it's not very smooth to apply.

~ Pros ~

~ Good colour payoff, very pigmented

~ Last longer than the average lipstick I am used to

~ Cons ~

~ Not buildable as a colour

~ A bit drying on the lips, the product feels very dry

Now, the highlighter. ~

~ Super Shock Highlighter ~

I got the highlighter in the colour "Spellbound" for 8$ USD! ~

Firstly, I love the colour!! It's a bit more pinkish than I thought it would be from the pictures on the website but they don't have any swatches of their highlighters, at least not that I noticed?

The formula is a bit weird to get used to, their "super shock" line is a bit creamy and spongy, it's hard to describe the texture and it's one that I've never seen before in makeup. They suggest that you apply it with your fingers and that's what I did! It does feels quite light but a bit oily at the same time... I would not recommend the formula if you have a very oily skin or if you tend to sweat a lot. The colour payoff is nice and it's very buildable as a product. I found that if you "tap" your fingers you get a bit more payoff than if you "swipe" it. Each application process worked for me and it's good for different purposes or looks. ~ The product is very glittery and appear more pink until it catches the light, when it does it's more like a rose-gold/white glow!

Out of all the products I got from Colourpop, I think it's the one that doesn't last as long. I don't know if it's because of the formula, maybe I'm sweating too much but I find that the colour/glitter does fade out after a couple hours of wear, sadly... ;w;

I've used it as a cheek highlight, almost like a blush on the highest points of my cheeks since it's a bit rosy and I liked the effect. ~ I also like using it across my nose bridge perpendicular to it so it looks like a soft blushy highlight? XD; I don't know if that's really how you are supposed to use highlighter but I like how it looks on me so that's how I'm gonna keep using it I guess... XD;

~ Pros ~

~ Very nice colour, duo chromatic shimmers and great amount of glitters

~ Buildable, good for different looks/feels

~ Cons ~

~ Formula is a bit weird to get used to

~ Feels a bit oily on the face

~ Not very long lasting product

Now onto the eyeshadow palettes! ^^; I'm going to review the colour/shades individually and then the eyeshadows/formula as a whole. ~

~ Eyeshadow Palettes ~

I got the palettes for 12$ USD each.

~ Ooh La La ~

I thought I wouldn't use most of the more "muted" and darker shades life Soft Core, Trove and Caddy but honestly after experimenting with this palette I love all of them! ^^'' Big Sugar along with Moon Struck as a highlight have been my signature pink eye look since I got the palette! XD The shades are super wearable and they are really nice for both daily and more glam looks. ~

~ Lilac You A Lot ~

Again, I was prepared to sulk the more muted shades for this palette but I found them useful as an "under eye" colour, for when you need something that is still pigmented but not too flashy. ^^; I love the colour Imagine That for this and I can't wait to use Iffy and Filtered for a good purple Gothic Lolita look! :3

~ Blue Moon ~

    

I really thought I wouldn't use most of this palette and I was getting it mostly to dupe my blue eyeshadow from Yves Rocher (the colours Moonlite and Starry Eyed were close to it) but I tried to make a light to dark blue look the other day with Fine China and Starry Eyed and I really liked it! It doesn't appear as dark as on the swatch and it's very wearable even along pastel shades for me! ^^; I also made a look with Tide Pool on my friend Mason when I got the palette and it's such a fun colour with a nice finish, I really want to use it soon! *v*

Overall, all the shades from the eyeshadow palettes are very pigmented, much more than my Yves Rocher singles eyeshadows or the Little Twin Stars palette from Sugarpill!

At first when I did my first makeup look I thought that the colours were almost too pigmented and not buildable but it was because I clearly used too much product for the look I was going for... ^^'' A little really goes a long way and even if the pan sizes appear small, you don't need a lot of product to achieve a nice colour payoff. All you need is just one swipe and one coat and the colour is almost as it appear in the pan, it's awesome! ^^; The only one that I found a little less pigmented was the lilac one and you can kind of tell from my swatches that the colours are more sheer/pastel but even with that they are still more pigmented than my Yves Rocher eyeshadows.

Also there are pretty much no fallouts, the product feels nice and light on my eyes even if I am wearing 2-3 eyeshadow colours + an highlight up to my brows... XD; It's also been holding up pretty well through the day and the colours stay vibrant! ~

Seriously, for 12$ each palette it's pretty much the best product I even got the chance to try. Even if it appears that you don't get a lot of product, I don't really mind re-buying palettes like this each time I run out. XD; The colours also nicely work together to create complete and more complex eye looks, I really love it! :3

~ Pros ~

~ Very pigmented, nice colour payoff and a little goes a long way

~ Each of the shades in the palettes nicely work together

~ Quite long lasting

~ Cons ~

~ Pan sizes may be a bit small

I'm also going to share a few makeup looks I did with my new makeup so you can see them in action! ^^;

I don't remember the exact shades I used but the first one was made mostly with the Ooh La La palette, the second one with Ooh LaLa and Blue Moon palettes and the third one with Lilac You A Lot palette. ~

So I hope you enjoyed my review! ^^; I mostly recommend Colourpop for their eyeshadow palettes and their lipsticks but they are quite nice for when you want to experiment with makeup but you want something affordable! ~

Sugarpill Little Twin Stars Makeup Collection Review! ^w^

I'm back on my blog today with something I haven't done like... ever! XD; But I was so excited about it, I knew I wanted to talk about it on my blog! ~

So today I wanted to write a little review about the Little Twin Stars Sugarpill palette and liquid lip colours! Someone on a makeup group I am a part of shared that Sugarpill had these two on a major sale so since I wanted to try it for so long I decided to give it a go! ^^;

I know that the hype kind of died and that palette was released several years ago but I wanted to review it anyway just because I want to talk about makeup... XD;

Please keep in mind that I am very much a beginner when it comes to experimenting with different makeup brands and styles! I've been pretty much doing the same makeup style and bought the same products for the last decade at least so take my opinion and advice for what it's worth... Which is probably not much, haha! ^w^''

Here was my order, unpacked! ~

I don't feel like it would be very accurate to review the processing/shipping time during a global health pandemic but for full disclosure I placed my order on April 21st in the morning, it was shipped the same day at the end of the afternoon and I received my order on May 11th!

Let's start with the lip colours! :3

~ Liquid Lip Colour Duo ~

I got both on sale for 6$ USD which is around 8.50$ CAD! ~

Firstly, the packaging is super duper cute!! I like the lilac shade they used for the cap part and I love the fact that the colour of the lipstick is supposed to mimic Kiki and Lala's hair colours! OwO So cute!!

Both lip colours are very full coverage, opaque and very vibrant! It's a bit hard to see in the swatch or the tube but they have a bit of a gold glitter to them as well! They feel light and nice on the lips, almost like you aren't wearing makeup but they are a bit drying after a while. They are also both scented like orange creamsicle, yummy!! ^w^

Kiki's shade (the turquoise one) was a bit grainy and it took a bit more work to get it spread out evenly on my lips. You can also see it's a bit grainy on the swatch too. They are both not very forgiving if you make a mistake while applying the product and you have to take your time to apply it properly. It's not like a lipstick where you can just wipe it off with your finger and start again... ^^'' They are both very long lasting and you need a sturdy makeup remover to get rid of it. I couldn't get them off just by using a wet towel to remove them. Kiki's shade also stained my lips and mouth area a bit and I had to actually wash my face too after removing it.

I thought that Lala's shade (the pink one) would suit me more, but it was the opposite actually! I wasn't really prepared to like the turquoise one so much on me, I even told a friend I would give it to them if I wouldn't like it haha! XD; But now I only need to build-up the courage to wear it outside since it's so daring for me! ^w^''

~ Pros ~

~ Cute packaging, limited edition

~ Nice shades with glitters in them

~ Feel very light on the lips

~ VERY long lasting

~ Cons ~

~ Texture is a bit grainy

~ Product was hard to apply properly

~ A bit drying on the lips

~ Hard to remove, stained my skin

Now, onto the palette! ~

~ Limited Edition Eyeshadow Palette ~

I got the palette on sale for 14$ USD which is around 20$ CAD! ~

The eyeshadows were very hard to swatch and photograph accurately, I did the best I could, haha... ^^''

For the palette, we are met again with a lovely lilac packaging, I love the mirror and the plastic sleeve with the name of the shades on them, very cute! :3 I am someone that wears mainly cute pastel clothes so I was looking forward using all of those shades except Wish (the copper one) since it's not a colour I wear or I am drawn to in daily life... ^^'' The pan sizes are big and you get a lot of product! ~

All of the colours were pretty sheer on my swatches except Star Ribbon (the turquoise) which is also the only colour that is matte. I would say that they are a bit less sheer when applied on the eyelid. The colours are definitely buildable which is something I look for in my daily makeup. ~

Some of the shades have a LOT of fallouts, it's almost ridiculous... Like I cannot get my brush in the pan without having twice as much of product just as fallout... I don't know if it's because the palette was old but it seems to be a thing people pointed out in their reviews even when the palette launched, so... ^w^'' The only shade I didn't had that problem was Dream Dust (the beige one) but that's probably because I used it mostly as a highlighter and I applied it with my fingers because I am a noob and I don't have a brush for highlighter yet. XD;

I tried a couple of makeup looks with them at this point and I can say that each of the shades doesn't last the same time when worn. I found that Cloud Maker (the silvery blue) and Twinkle Twinkle (the gold one) wouldn't even last half a day on my eyes. I don't really wear primer though but I don't think that's necessary on a day to day basis and I expect most eyeshadows to last though my 4 hour shift at work, at least... And that's a problem I never had before... ^w^'' Star Ribbon and Sky Candy (the pink one) are the ones that were much more long lasting.

I found that I like the shade Dream Dust much more as a highlighter than a eyeshadow but they were advertised as highlights and blush too! I also tried Sky Candy as a blush which I liked too! ~

~ Pros ~

~ Nice sparkly shades, limited edition

~ Buildable, nice for daily wear

~ Can be used as eyeshadow, highlighter or blush

~ Big pan size

~ Cons ~

~ LOTS of fallout

~ Some of the colours aren't as long lasting

Here is a makeup look I did with the collection; Sky Candy on my inner eye, Cloud Maker on my outer eye, Star Ribbon under my eye, dream dust as a highlighter and Lala's liquid lip colour. ~

Spring Favourites 2019! ~

Hello my cute blooming yellow flowers! :3

I'm back on my blog today with my favourites from this spring! ^w^ (Better late than never, haha! XD) I don't have a lot of them this time compared to my usual favourites I do. Also, they are kind of unusual since there are almost no fashion and beauty ones but I hope you'll enjoy them anyway. :3

~ Yves Rocher Face Mask ~

I got this face mask in April to help me deal with the oily spots on my face since I changed my medication and it really helped me to control most of it! ~ I only got a small tube since I don't use it all over my face (mostly only on my forehead, around my nose and a bit on my chin). It does smell a bit weird and "chemical" but I really liked to use it anyway! ^w^

~ Eyeshadow in General ~

I've fell back in love with eyeshadow this spring! ^w^ I used to only wear eyeshadow when I wanted to be extra dolled up or on special occasions sometimes but I started to wear some pretty much daily to work and it really helped me to love my outfits more! :3 I plan to finish the ones I already have on hand before I get new ones, soon! ~

~ French Vanilla from Tim Hortons ~

I got one for the first time when I went to my hometown and I didn't want to get my usual moka or coffee but I still wanted a warm drink. ;o; I am in LOVE with it since that day... XD; I don't know if they make it with coffee or espresso but I have it with added cream and maybe a pump of caramel flavour and it's so delightful! ;o; I also had it with whipped cream for an extra special treat! :3

~ Studio Black Zombie ~

I discovered this new place in my city when I decided to hold a little casual meetup there back in April and I went pretty much every other week since... XD; It's such a nice cosy place filled with geeky stuff, there is some anime music playing all the time and the staff is extra friendly and sweet! I really recommend going there for a cute geeky date! :3 They also have drinks and food and it is so affordable to eat there (maybe that's why I've been going there so often XD). Their bubble teas are very delicious and I recommend their paninis and their dumplings! :3 Go check out their facebook page here, they host some themed events that they announce on their page also! ~

~ Habitica ~

My friend Érika showed me this website/app back in... March I think? I've been addicted to it ever since! XD; It's a website which helps you track of your daily habits and tasks and when you accomplish them in real life you can level up your little character in the game! :3 You can also collect familiars, feed them food, have some quests and challenges with your friends, etc... It's such a nice website to keep track of your daily habits (that's mainly why I started using it) and it helped me a lot to stay accountable! ^w^

~ Spending time with friends! ~

(Featuring the handsome Mason from our last little date at the Studio Black Zombie since I didn't had other fitting pictures, haha! XD)

This spring I spent a lot of time with my friends and I really enjoyed it! ~ I hosted a lot of Lolita meetups and I've been trying to host 2 a month for the last 2 or 3 months now! I spent time on cute little dates with my friends and it was very refreshing for me since it's something I had a lot of trouble to do during the past year because of my anxiety... I used to only go out when I was with my Prince and it was hard for me to go out alone with just another friend with me. ;w; But I am very glad I overcome that so I could enjoy going out with friends again. ~

~ My New BuJo ~

When I started the year I was using the journal from Les Folies Passagères which my kind friend DD gave me as a Holiday present and I used it for a while... Before I realized that I really missed to make my own little layouts in my BuJo. ;w; I missed the colourful spreads, keeping track of my habits, having a gratitude log and the like... So I went back to my old bullet journal and I finally got a new one last month since the other was full! :3 I chose the teal coloured one this time and I decorated it in a very over the top way with cute mermaid stickers (that the Prince offered to me a couple of years ago). ~ I missed the freedom of a bullet journal so much, it really helps me a lot with my daily tasks and to manage my mental health. ~

That was my favourites from this spring! ^w^ I didn't expect it to get so personal about it but here I am! XD; I hope you enjoyed to take a look at them even if they weren't usual things I would put in my favourites haha! :3 I have a lot of plans on my bucket list for summer so I look forward to that with a light and kind heart! ~

Quebec City Shopping Haul! ~

Hello my sweet dandelions! ~

I wanted to share my little shopping haul from my Quebec city trip when I went to Nadeshicon. ^w^ Our group arrived a day early in Quebec city to do some shopping before the convention. ~

Here's a picture of EVERYTHING I got, both at the mall and at the convention. XD; Putting it all together like that, it look a lot more than I thought. ^w^''

I visited two big malls, the Galeries de la Capitale on Thursday and Place Laurier on Friday! ~ I think I was pretty reasonable with my purchases though! XD;

Here is what I got at the mall only. ~

Let's start with what I got at the Galeries de la Capitale. ^w^

Our first stop was the Univers Toutou! ~ This shop is similar to Build-a-Bear, you make your own plushie! It's kind of a tradition for me, each time I go shopping at the Galeries de la Capitale I make a plushie there. ^w^ This time, I chose a cute white and lilac bunny and I named her Kira-Hime! :3 She's so cute with the little sparkles in her eyes. ^w^

After that, we went to Sephora! It was the first time I went to a mall with a Sephora and I had an actual interest in quality makeup. XD; I spent a lot of time choosing what I wanted, but I settled for the new Fairy Tears lipstick by Too Faced! ~ I had a look at it online but when I swatched it in the store I knew I had to have it. XD; It appears yellow in the tube but when you apply it it turns into a nice shimmery cool pink with LOTS of glitter! ^w^ I've been wearing it a lot during my trip, I couldn't help myself. XD;

Now, let continue with the things I bought at Place Laurier! ~

Our first stop was l'Imaginaire but I didn't get anything for myself. XD; But I got the Prince some amazing birthday presents there! ^w^

We went at Claire's after our stop at the Starbucks. ~ I got some Pusheen blind boxes that I haven't had the chance to find in Saguenay and a huge bunny peeps plushie! ^w^ The big plushie was on sale after Easter so I only got it for around 6$ instead of 25$. XD; The funny thing is that I had bought the smaller bunny peeps plushie the week before for the full price of 8$. ^w^'' The big one ended up costing me less than the smaller one... XD; I was also super happy with what I got in my Pusheen blind boxes! I really wanted the white pegasus. ^w^

We also went at Lush after that. ~ I got some bath bombs, bubble bars a single bath melt and a lip scrub. :3 For the bath bombs and the bubble bars I chose from left to right on the picture: Pink, April Showers (I think, it's not available anymore on their website. ^w^''), A french kiss, Twilight, Melty Marshmallow Moment (which is a bath melt), Rose Jam and Milky Bath. As for the lip scrub I chose my favourite one: Bubblegum! ^w^ Now I don't need any bath bombs or bubble bears until Fall! XD;

We went at Bath and Body Works after that! ^w^ I already had a lot of their products left but I really wanted one of their candles and as I was there since there was a sale I splurged for two shower gels and a moisturizer. XD; For the candle I chose one that smelled like strawberry cupcakes. ^w^ I totally chose it because of the "Girl Power" packaging though, as I need a meaningful candle for my witchcraft too. ~ For the shower gels and the moisturizer I chose two scents I haven't tried before: Pink Chiffon, which smells like flowers and a little touch of vanilla and Pretty as a Peach which smells lightly of sugary peaches. ^w^

Our final stop at Place Laurier was the Sunrise! We have one here in Saguenay and the Prince wanted a shirt from there when we went to it a while ago here... So I took a look if they had it in Quebec and they did! ^w^ Since there was a sale I also got a Bananya t-shirt for me too as I saw it here in Saguenay too and I really wanted it! XD; I also got one of the Pusheen plushies I was searching for my collection: The Pusheenicorn! ^w^ Finally, I grabbed a Bananya figure since I already had two other ones from this collection and I wanted the original one too but it got sold out here in Saguenay! ^w^ (And since I was already getting the shirt, I got all in! XD)

So that was everything I got at the malls during our little shopping trip to Quebec city! ^w^ I'm happy I only got things I knew I liked and I needed so I cherish everything a lot. ~
