Anime Review! ~ Tokyo Mew Mew!

Hello my sweet blueberry cakes! :3

I'm back on my blog today after a bit of an involuntary hiatus! ^^'' I was actually working on a clothing review that I thought I could finish and publish earlier but it ended up being a bit more time consuming than I thought so I decided to write an anime review in the meantime! ^^;

I wanted to write a review on the anime Tokyo Mew Mew, even if it's an older anime. ~ I heard that for a lot of people of my generation it was one of their introduction to anime! But I also kind of heard a lot of mixed opinions about it... So I just wanted to add my own two cents with my review! (Spoiler alert, I really enjoyed it! XD)

~ Tokyo Mew Mew ~

Tokyo Mew Mew is a 52 episodes anime that aired back in 2002-2003!

~ Story ~

Tokyo Mew Mew is a magical girl anime and the premise is kind of mysterious and unusual but still pretty straightforward! You follow a group of 5 girls with magical powers that have the ultimate mission to defeat the bad guys; the aliens!

They gather together in a cute little Maid Café that also hides their magical headquarters along with two mysterious guys and their magical robot fairy Masha! Each of them get their powers from a different animal that is an endangered species (from what I understood?) and their mission is kind of related to how they should protect life on earth, basically. ~

I thought that premise was honestly refreshing! I love how they took inspiration from animals. I love their secret mystery base with all the weird technology and computers. I love that their magical fairy is a robot and kind of ties it together with their secret base also! ^^;

There is also the cutest and the most cheesy love story I ever saw in a magical girl anime! >3< There is also some more deeper plot elements related to it that were incredibly well done and developed in my opinion.

The plot is pretty solid, well executed and the pace is quite good! I thought it was a bit slow for the first 10-15 episodes but after that the pace is much more better. There is not a lot of filler episodes overall and the story progress nicely. There is quite a bit of cliffhangers that makes you want to watch the next episode which is always something I like in anime! ~

~ Art ~

The art and the animation definitely show the age of the anime, but it didn't really bother me. It felt more nostalgic than anything else. The colours are vibrant trough the anime, the characters are nicely brought to life by their expressions which is something I enjoy.

The way they animated the attacks are pretty basic but considering the fact that it aired almost two decades ago it's fine to me! Same thing for their outfits, it's a bit basic but still cute; it does the job in the end! ^^;

~ Sound ~

The music trough the anime was probably the less polished point in my opinion. It didn't really bother me but they kind of use the same music for each "sad" scene, each "combat" scene, etc... I would have appreciated a bit more variety, especially since the music isn't really that good... ^^''

The opening and the endings are fine... They don't really stand out to me but they didn't bother me either.

However I liked the voices actors, I thought they suited the characters very well! Some of them have accents or voice patterns that make them stand out more and I really appreciate that! ^^;

~ Characters ~

The characters are another very strong point in this anime in my opinion! It's a bit of a shame that some of them have more development than others but they still get their fair amount under the spotlight! Overall each supporting characters got 2-3 episodes dedicated to them and their development which is fine by me for an anime of this length.

They did a lot of plot twist involving characters and their identities, their secrets, etc... I really enjoyed that and I didn't saw them coming at all! (The Prince watched a couple of episodes with me and he could tell though so maybe the surprise isn't that strong... XD) I loved how they developed their personalities, the motives for their actions were really in character through the whole anime and all the characters had nice depth for a children anime!

Even the villains had their own development episodes, they also have their deepest moments and they get some pretty good redemption in the end which is always something I appreciate!

~ Enjoyment ~

I started watching Tokyo Mew Mew kind of with mixed opinions at first and the plot is also a bit slower in the beginning, but when I got to know the characters more I started to enjoy the story more and more!

The premise was pretty strong and I never saw anything quite exactly like that in an anime before. I loved the cliffhangers, the plot twists, the love story and the moral dilemmas. ~ I loved the fact that the characters are far from being one-sided and it made them feel more relatable and real.

I really think that Tokyo Mew Mew is a must watch if you are a fan of the magical girl genre and especially if you love romance and a solid plot that actually revolves around something meaningful, real and relatable.

Overall I give Tokyo Mew Mew a rating of 9 out of 10!

I hope that you liked my review today, I really enjoy doing those since I watch a lot of anime and I also love sharing my thoughts about them, hehe! ^w^

I hope to have my other review up soon too, please look forward to it! :3

Until next time my precious purple jewels, stay safe and take care! <3

Anime Review! ~ The iDOLM@STER!

Hello my wonderful blue raspberry donuts! ^^;

I'm back on my blog today with a small anime review! ~ I wanted to review this anime because I feel like it's not a very popular idol anime! Even if I heard about it a couple of times I feel like it's not as well known so I wanted to add my two cents to the reviews! XD;

Again like most of my reviews I'm going to try to make it as spoiler free as possible! :3

~ The iDOLM@STER ~

Idolmaster is a 25 episode anime that aired back in 2011! I believe there is also a couple OAVs and a movie but I only watched the "26th episode" OAV!

There is also a couple of "alternative settings" in the Idolmaster series with a whole different story and different characters and stuff. I looked them up and most of the reviews recommended that you start with that series if you want to start watching the whole franchise, so that's what I did! ^^;

~ Story ~

The story is about a group of 13 girls that are aspiring idols and you follow them through their journey; from the early stages of idoldom as they become more and more popular.

For what it's worth the story and the premise are pretty straightforward! There isn't really any big plot development, in my opinion it's a story that is on the cusp between an idol anime and a slice of life anime. The plot in itself is very simple and even if they encounter some hardships along the way they aren't really that huge and "plot twisty"...

I loved the fact that they didn't really sugarcoat the world of idols in the first part of the series. You can see how hard they struggle to start being noticed in the business world as idols. In my opinion it was a very genuine representation, which is something that I haven't seen a lot in idol anime.

Overall it's pretty simple story and plot to follow but it's a liiiitle bit bland in my opinion.

~ Art ~

Personally I didn't like the art style in this anime... ;w; I feel like the animation and the drawing were kind of poor quality?

The way that they would draw mouths really did bother me, you can kinda see it in the artwork poster but I feel like their mouths were often too big for their faces and I didn't like the fact that you almost never see their teeth? I thought I would get over it but it still bothered me for the whole series... XD; I also think that their eyes were lacking expression a bit and they felt lifeless sometimes...

The animation for the dances weren't very impressive either. ;w; And I didn't like the way the backgrounds were drawn most of the time, it felt unpolished. ^^''

~ Sound ~

I was expecting to like most of the songs in this anime since I'm really enjoying "anime style" music and idol songs; it's the kind of music I listen to almost exclusively... XD; However...

I liked exactly ONE song in the whole anime and it's not even a cute and bubbly one... ^w^'' It was Chihaya song; Aoi Tori, which is a very dramatic song in my opinion. XD;

The songs were very lackluster to me, most of them weren't very catchy and I feel like I could get used to a few of them but overall I didn't like them when I heard them through the anime... They didn't stand out to me at all...

For the voices, some of the characters voices were a bit grating to me but I feel like they suited their characters so I won't be too harsh about it but personally I did find some grating; especially Yayoi and Iori voices... ><''

~ Characters ~

One thing I think this anime did pretty well, the characters and character development!

At first I was worried because 13 main characters is a lot for a 25 episode anime and I thought that we would only see the surface of their personalities, but the anime did manage to make each of them shine. Most of them had their own development episode which is something I really liked!

During the last third of the series you can really see their personalities unfold as they grow as idols and interact together! It was really interesting to see and the last part of the series is what made me enjoy the anime so much! ^^;

~ Enjoyment ~

I wasn't enjoying the anime much for most of the series but as they started to give each of the girls their "spotlight episodes" I started to like it more! My favourite part was definitely the end of the series which I thought was very heartwarming and soft. :3

However I think the plot in itself lacked depth and the animation was bad overall... I was also sad that I didn't like most of the songs despite me liking that type of music so much... ^w^''

I always thought that the Idolmaster series was a must watch but after watching it I don't think that you miss anything if you don't watch it honestly, it's up to you! ~

Overall I give iDOLM@STER a rating of 7 out of 10!

I hope you liked my small anime review even if it wasn't overly positive, haha! XD;

Until next time my fluffy orange foxes, stay safe and take care! ~

Anime Review! ~ Dokidoki Precure!

Hello my shiny turquoise gems! ~

I'm back on my blog today with another anime review! ^w^ In February I finished Dokidoki Precure and I enjoyed it quite a lot! :3

I also want to preface my review by saying that I am currently watching all the Precure series in order, so I cannot compare to the most recent series which I have not seen. ~

As usual, I try to make my reviews as spoiler free as possible but they may contain minor spoilers though! ^^;

Dokidoki Precure

Dokidoki Precure is the 10th season of Precure. It aired back in 2013-2014. It have 49 episodes and a movie.

It's also dubbed as "Glitter Force Dokidoki" in english. The dubbed version have removed quite a lot of episodes and plot elements though and I haven't watched it. (Because I don't have any interest in anime dubs, oops... XD)

Story

The plot of this season is basically centered around fighting "selfishness" and bad emotions and bringing love back into the hearts of people. I really loved the theme of the series and the morals are quite deep for a kids show which is always something I like. ~

The story premise was a bit different than the other Precure seasons I have seen before! Usually in the first episodes the main cure would discover a fairy that would explain basically which kingdom they would have to protect, the reason why and what they should do in order to do that... But for this season there was already a cure that was a cure before the show started! I thought that was an interesting twist that wasn't done before from what I remember.

 I loved how they did play with that theme and how it brought a good handful of cliffhanger and plot twists into the story. I would say that, plot and story wise, this season is definitely the most well constructed so far. There is a bit of "age twisting" (I don't know how to put it ahah) and it may be a bit hard to follow at times for a kids show but it has been done before (in Suite Precure if I remember well?) and it's nicely explained though. ~

Art

The art style is pretty basic for a Precure series. Lots of colours, lots of pastels and sparkles! :3 I loved their cure outfits and how they all look different in terms of silhouette and design for once! I really liked how they animated their attacks, especially the very last one they get as a group attack. I also thought that it was interesting, unless the past few seasons, they have smaller individuals attacks that they use for support through the show (like Rosetta Reflexion). I feel like it's been a while since they had a proper defensive/protective attack, which is usually my favourite attacks! ^^;

Sound

I liked the opening and the endings for this series! ~ The voice of the characters matched their personalities nicely and none of them were grating to me. XD; I would have loved to see more songs integrated the show since Makoto (Cure Sword) is an idol though... ^^''

Characters

I thought that there was quite a lot of character focused episodes which is always something I like. ^^; Each character get around 2 or 3 episodes focused on their development which is typical for a Precure series. I really loved the fact that they all have their personal fairy. :3

Cure Heart was the typical bubbly pink leader. I liked her personality even is she was waaay too naive with Regina... I thought that Cure Diamond was nice and a bit quirky; still a typical studious blue cure but it wasn't overwhelming. Cure Rosetta is my waifu. XD; Love her personality, I love the fact that she is rich and that she have a mansion and butler but she is still facing personal hardships and trying to get through them. ~ Cure Sword is probably my least favourite cure... She does get a bit of development but I didn't like her for most of the first arc of the series. She was very arrogant and haughty with the first three cures at the start of the series and it was very much unnecessary in my opinion. Cure Ace was okay... Her development episode with her grandma made me like her a bit more but she was very much like Cure Sword at first and kind of rude for no reason which is isn't something I like, especially between cures... I usually have a thing against anime babies but Ai-chan isn't so bad honestly. She didn't bother me that much and there wasn't a lot of "baby focused" episodes which was nice. XD;

The main villains were okay; not too deep but not bland either. XD; Their villain bowling alley was cool and it kind reminded me of Sailor Moon villains. I loved the weird romance-ish episode between Ira and Cure Diamond. XD; Also, there was two villains that appeared in the middle of the series and they lasted only for a few episodes before not being seen again and I thought that was a bit weird? XD; I personally had a hard time with Regina... I feel like they tried to make her "relatable" but Mana (Cure Heart) is really too naive and that bothered me a lot how Regina played with her kindness and emotions? It gets worse as the series progress too... ^w^''

Enjoyment

I really enjoyed the series because I feel like this is one of the few Precure series so far that have a proper interesting plot. I loved the plot twists and the new things that they introduced to change up the typical mechanism for once. I loved the fact that they would use their support attacks for what they are and not necessarily as a big "power up" moment which was something I thought was laking in the last Precure series.

Overall I give Dokidoki Precure a rating of 9 out of 10!

I hope you enjoyed my Precure review! :3 Until next time my wonderful pink donuts with rainbow sprinkles, take care! ^w^

Anime Review! ~ Sanrio Danshi!

Hello my lovely heart shaped chocolates! :3

Today I am back on my blog with something I haven't done in a little while, an anime review! ^w^

The anime I'm going to review today is; Sanrio Danshi! I wanted to review this anime because I really enjoyed it even if it wasn't my usual style of anime and I wanted to share my feelings about it! XD;

As usual, I'll try my best to make it spoiler free! :3

~ Sanrio Danshi! ~

Sanrio Danshi or Sanrio Boys is a slice of life/school life anime that aired in Winter 2018! It's a 12 episodes anime. ~

Story

The story centers about Kouta, a high school boy that used to like Pompompurin when he was younger. One day as he discovers that some other highschool boys like Sanrio characters too, he connect back with his love of the character and cute things in general. We follow mainly his story but also the backstory and life of 4 others boys who each like a different Sanrio character and by the middle of the season they join together in a sweet "Sanrio Boys" squad and do stuff together. ~

I think that the story in itself is nicely put together. In the first half of the series you follow Kouta backstory for a couple episodes and after that there is the backstory of each of the boys and their relation with their specific Sanrio character. You learn to know about them bit by bit and it's nicely paced. The second half of the series is more centered about their dynamic as a group, their relations together and their journey toward an event they decided to do together. :3

Art

For me, the art is probably one of weakest point of the anime. It's not necessarily bad but it's not an art style that I am used to personally. The backgrounds are often quite minimal. I also think that the character expressions are sometime lacking in intensity, especially their eyes... There is also these times where they put the emphasis on something by making a little "frame" of the action in the animation. It was interesting in itself but I personally didn't really like it as it's not something I am used to and I found it more distracting than anything else... XD;

Sound

The opening/ending weren't that impressive to me, they were nice but a bit generic. Same thing with the music used through the anime, they didn't stood out particularly to me... The character voices were fitting nicely, none of them were grating and they suited their specific character personalities.

Characters

To me, the characters and especially the character development is the main reason I liked that anime and I wanted to review it! XD; Each of them have such unique and complex personalities, it was so nice to see their story unfold in the beginning of the series. They all have their personal story linked to their favourite Sanrio character and it was so sweet and nice to see them talk about it and being emotional about it! ;o; I also thought that the moral each of them show in their specific personal story are so, so important!

Enjoyment

I really enjoyed the anime overall! I never thought I would like it that much (even if it was about something as cute as Sanrio) because the art style isn't so cute and bubbly. Even with that, the show in itself isn't too overly sweet either! I usually don't watch a lot of anime that have more boy characters than girls because I usually don't relate to it as much and they are usually less complex but Sanrio Boys proved me wrong. XD;

Also, it made me realize that we shouldn't ever be ashamed of something that bring us joy or that helps us thrive in our daily life... And I already knew that but that show made such an impact on me in that department that I really recommend it if you struggle with self-affirmation and self-confidence. :3

Overall I give Sanrio Danshi a rating of 9 out of 10!

I hope you enjoyed my review of Sanrio Boys! I can't wait to do some other anime reviews in the near future, I really love doing those! :3

Until next time my fluffy purple sheeps, take care! ~

Anime Review! ~ Smile Precure!

Hello my precious fluffy yarn bows! :3

I'm back on my blog today with an anime review I ment to do a little while ago; a review of Smile Precure! ^w^

Smile Precure is one of the only Precure series that was dubbed in english so that's probably the season most people got acquainted with the Precure series! However I didn't watch the english dub as I prefer watching my series in their original language. ~

I always preface my Precure reviews by saying that I watch them in order of release so I haven't watched the most recent series yet. (I started watching Dokidoki in the meantime about a month ago though!) As usual I will try to not reveal major spoilers with my review! :3

Smile Precure

Smile Precure is the 9th season of the Precure franchise and aired back in 2012-2013. It have 48 episodes and a movie. The theme of this Precure series is Fairytales! ^w^

Story

In this series, the Precure have to collect the "Cure Decors" to revive the queen of a land of fairy-tales called Marchenland. The decors have been stolen by the bad guys from the Bad End kingdom which sole purpose is to make every story have a bad ending.

Firstly, I want to say that I loooved the fairytale themes! In some episodes there was heavy connections to actual fairytales stories and I loved that it was inspired by these stories so much! I loved their magical secret base in the big tree stump and their "secret code" with the books to unlock it. ~ I also really liked the Smile Pact they use to transform, it kind of reminded me of the tacts from Ojamajo Doremi too! The pacing was okay with how they had to collect the Cure Decors and you would see kind of a "Villain Clock" thing ticking when they would fight a new monster.

However I felt that some episodes were a bit rushed in the plot developpement. I feel like there was some points that could have been answered more clearly or earlier in the series and it kind of get a bit messy in my opinion? It's nothing major but it was hard to follow at times... Some of their motives to fight also felt a bit rushed and I would have liked a bit more developpement to understand and connect with their motives a bit more... Maybe that's just me being picky though. XD;

Art

The art style was very colourful and bubbly, perfect for a Precure series! ^w^ I enjoyed the fact that the Cure's colours were made to be so bright and not "pastel" like the last few seasons. I also really liked how they made their eyes to be so round (kind of like in Heartcatch?) and the way their hair would flow. The first attacks that they get was quite "basic" for a Precure series in my opinion but the last ones shown in the series are nicely animated and breathtaking with the rainbows and glitters... And kind of overkill to say the least... XD;

Sound

The opening and both of the endings are really really good! XD; I was actually listening to the first ending way before I watched the series because... It was too good of a song. ^w^'' I liked the music that they used in the series, cheerful when it needs to be and more dramatic/fast paced for the fighting scenes, I liked it! ~ I also love Candy's voice so much, I feel like the higher pitch and speech patterns really suit her! :3 None of the Cure's voices really bothered me, same for the villains, they suited their characters and personality nicely. ~

Characters

I feel like the characters are probably one of the weakest point of Smile Precure, sadly... I wanted to like them all so much and enjoy their personalities, but I feel like since there was so many Cures to develop (and the fact that they all appeared at the beginning of the series) that it was hard to make them shine individually and to have a decent character development for them. There was probably one or two character development episodes per Cure (and I understand that they did with the amount of episodes they had) but it was hard to connect with them and their personalities in such a short time.

I loved Cure Happy and Cure Peace personalities; I feel like they tried to make Cure Peace a bit more "not stereotypical" and quirky because she is the soft and shy one that loves drawing but she also likes Mechas and Sentais... XD; I couldn't really connect with Cure Sunny and Cure March... I felt like their personalities and hobbys were kind of interchangeable being the ones that are hardworking, liked sports and supporting their families and stuff... Cure Beauty was okay, she was a bit stereotypical but it didn't annoy me as much and I ended up liking her with the very few development episodes she had.

The villains however were much nicely developed in my opinion. There was like 3 main ones, Aka Oni, Majorina and Wolfurun which are based around a demon/ogre, a bad witch and a mean wolf. XD; Very stereotypical for what it is but I really enjoyed it anyway! ^w^'' They have very distinct personalities and I liked how at the end there was a bit of redemption for them. They were made for comic relief and silliness more than anything and they were pretty likeable, as villains that is. The other villains were Joker and Pierrot. Joker was kind of the "leader" of the villains and was much more mean and evil. Pierrot which was the biiig bad villain that they had to defeat at the end and you kind of never see/hear about him until the end of the series.

Enjoyment

I really enjoyed the series despite the weak points I mentioned earlier. The villains were so nicely written and developed that it kind of compensated for the Cures that weren't. XD. I loved the attacks, I loved the transformation/attack items, their secret base (I which they would have shown it more though!) the theme of the series too and Candy is probably one of my favourite fairies up to now! I can see why Smile Precure is listed as a "fan favourite" Precure series! ^w^

Overall I give Smile Precure a rating of 8 out of 10!

I hope you enjoyed my review! ^w^ Until next time my precious sparkly strawberries, take care! :3

Anime Review! ~ Princess Tutu!

Hello my lovely pink crystals! :3

I'm back on my blog today to share with you a review of an anime I finished pretty recently; Princess Tutu! ^w^ As usual I will try to make it as spoiler free as I can! ~

Princess Tutu

Princess Tutu is a 26 episodes anime that aired back in 2002-2003. It aired in two parts; one that was 13 episodes of 25 minutes and another part with 24 12 minutes episodes and a final 25 minutes episode. It may be confusing depending on where you watch it it may have been listed as a 38 episode anime. ~

Story

The story is about a girl named Ahiru, which is technically a duck. She was given a pendant that makes her transform into both a human girl and Princess Tutu. Her mission is to save the people from their "bad emotions" and collect the shattered pieces of the Prince's heart to make him feel whole and makes him feel his emotions again.

The story may look overly romantic and simple when worded like that, but it have so many different layers to it. Some of the earlier episodes are heavily based around the theme of stories like Cinderella or Hansel and Gretel which makes them pretty interesting to watch. Some of the characters are animals and not humans and nobody is batting an eye at it. There is some humor, there is some romance (but not that much compared to what I was expecting), there is some deep sad elements that I found very moving and relatable... Don't be scared by the silly name of the anime and the weird premise, it really unfolds a lovely deep and complex story. ~

Art

I do enjoy an "old-school" anime that ages well, and Princess Tutu delivers it completely in that area. The characters look beautiful with their big sparkly round eyes. The animations/dancing is beautifully animated and lovely. But the main point that made me love the art so much is how ethereal everything look and feels. It really adds something to the story. The backgrounds are messy and dreamy and they are just so beautiful. ~ There was also quite a lot of muted colours which would usually bother me but it did fit the story very well and I loved it! :3

Sound

The soundtrack was especially dreamy and fitting with the art and the story. Both the opening and the ending are very fitting to the anime, classical and dramatic, I loved them! There is quite a lot of classical music playing while they dance and in the story in general and you can easily recognize the songs like the Nutcracker suite or Swan Lake! ~ I also looooved Edel-san theme with her little music box thingy. :3

Characters

I think that the characters are both the best point and the weakest point in the anime... While some of them, really did have some amazing development and you can feel that they changed their whole point of view and softened their personality in the course of the anime... Some others kind of stay unidimensional... It wouldn't bother me that much if it was some side characters who were there only for the comic relief; but I feel like one of the main characters (who I'm not going to name because I want to keep it spoiler free XD) didn't have as much development and I found it quite weird considering their role in the story... ;w; That is what made me kind of hate the ending, even if it's supposed to be a happy one because I think that the characters that fought so hard to get what they wanted didn't get what they would deserve... XD; And because of that the ending seemed a bit overly simplified and rushed to me. ;w;

Enjoyment

As you may probably tell I really enjoyed the anime! From the art to the soundtrack and the amazing story. ~ I couldn't get enough of it even if some parts were so relatable it made my skin crawl a bit... ^w^'' I think that a good anime should always make you laugh, surprise you and also make you cry and Princess Tutu made me feel all of that! ~

Sadly, I cannot bring myself to give it more than a 9 out of 10 because of the ending which made me a bit salty... XD;

Overall I give Princess Tutu a rating of 9 out of 10! ~

I hope you enjoyed my little anime review! ^w^ I really enjoy doing those and I really should write them more often! ~

Until next time my lovely dewy blue roses, take care! :3

Anime Review! ~ Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon!

Hello my sweet caramel ice cream cones! :3

I knew I said that I was going to get back on my posting schedule on my blog last week but I was so busy preparing my panels and my Pokémon team for our local Pokemon league for the SagGeek next weekend that I completely forgot to take some time for blogging... ^w^''

However, I am back on my blog today with an anime review! ~ I watched that anime back in March/April and I really wanted to write a review for it so here we are today! :3

Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon

Maid Dragon is an anime of 13 episodes (plus a special one) that aired in 2017. ~ I watched the first episode of the series at the anime club but I finished it at home with the Prince! ^w^

Story

The story is about the life of Kobayashi-san and her dragon maid, Tohru, that she invited to work at her house. Tohru than presented her her other dragon friends from the other world and try to get used to as the life on earth much as she can... But her kind of tragic past came to crawl up on her more quickly than she thought... OwO

This anime is kind of paced like a slice of life anime which is something that I liked for such a short anime. They didn't have much place for the story development so they kept it quite simple and easy to follow. I didn't expect it to like it quite as much, but the end bits and the backstory are quite something. It may seem like a cute slice of life anime with a cute maid dragon girl and her friends but it is really powerful and it have such nice messages and themes in the end. ~

Art

The drawings were very pretty and quite usual and fitting for that type of anime. I personally think that this anime will age pretty well since it have quite a "regular" drawing style. There are a few more dynamic actions scenes in the anime and I thought that they were nicely animated and very "flowy" for what they were! ~

Sound

The voice of the characters were mostly fitting. They had a nice charisma and expression in their voice and none of them seemed off to me. The background music was nice and easily recognizable depending of the vibes of the scenes and the situations. The opening and ending songs were very catchy and entertaining! ^w^

Characters

I loved the characters and I thought that some of them were very relatable, at least for me! I personally didn't expect this much character development in such a short and light anime. On some episodes I would smile, cry and laugh in the same episode! TwT The characters were so well written and had kind of a profound side to their personalities. It's not the case for every character but the main ones are really well developed through the pace of the anime which is something I appreciated a lot! :3

Enjoyment

I really enjoyed this anime! ~ I thought at first that would be a light and heartwarming anime with cute characters and humour... But I was pleasantly surprised with deeper themes and some nice character development through the anime and I didn't expect it at all! :3

Overall, I give Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon a rating of 10 out of 10!

I hope you liked my little anime review! :3 There is at least another one that I have planned and I am currently watching shorter animes so expect some more anime reviews in the near future! ~

Anime Review! ~ Pandora Hearts!

Hello my sweet chocolate cupcakes! ~

I'm back on my blog today with an anime review for you! ^w^ I finished to watch this anime during the Holidays and since it's been a while I wrote something interesting on my blog I thought it would be nice to do a review for you! ~

Pandora Hearts

Pandora Hearts is a 25 episode anime series that aired back in 2009. ~

Story

In this story, we mostly follow Oz Vessalius after he was banished into a world called the Abyss and made a contract with a "chain" there if he wanted to go out of the Abyss and go back to the "real world". After that, the story introduces us to different characters that will help Oz shine the light on the mysteries that is the Abyss, the chains and the mysteries about his life in general.

The story is kind of hard to follow if you aren't used to supernatural series like this. There is quite a bit of time travels and throwbacks; we follow the characters between different worlds and the story doesn't really have a linear timeline. For me it was hard to get used to it at first and I had to read some summaries of the episodes after watching them because I didn't always understand what was going on... However I think the story was nicely developed, the pace was great and we would start to get some of the answers from the original plot... Until about 3/4 of the anime. That's because the last few episodes of the anime doesn't follow the story of the manga (the manga is much longer and more detailed than that). I kind of felt like the end was rushed and the information that was given didn't really made sense with the story or the characters.

Art

I liked the art style and I think that even if it was an older anime it really did age well. I feel like it's very much a generic dramatic anime/manga art style so that's why it resisted well to the test of time I think. It wasn't a very cutesy art style like I am used to but there was definitely some nicely animated scenes and fights that I enjoyed nonetheless. Also, I cannot lie and I want to mention that I watched this anime mostly because of the victorian feeling and the pretty outfits and I wasn't disappointed. It really inspired me for my own fashion style and lifestyle too! ^w^

Sound

The soundtrack of this series is amazing! I felt like the songs and the music really complemented the scenes very well and they would get stuck in my head for days. (I'm actually listening to the soundtrack as I write this! XD) It's one of the first good points of the anime that I noticed when I first started to watch it, the songs were so good and dramatic it made me crave to watch it more! ^w^ It kind of reminded me of the soundtrack from Rozen Maiden but they don't seem to share the same artist or compositors.

As for the voices, none of them were bothering me but I think that they could have matched the characters personalities a bit more? Sometimes they felt very impersonal and generic which was a bummer since the characters are so complex and nicely developed themselves.

Characters

The characters are another very great point of this anime! I've never seen such surprising character development in another anime before. The thing I liked the most is that they seem very "real", they doesn't act stereotypically and you couldn't really predict how they would react to certain things and each of them seemed always so mysterious. I think that it would be easy to relate to the characters from this anime because they aren't unidimensional, they all have their own quirks that get revealed through the anime. I really enjoyed to discover them through the episodes (even if for the last few episodes some of their reactions felt "off").

Enjoyment

Overall I mostly enjoyed watching this anime and I know why it have been recommended to me multiple times! I loved the music a lot, I loved the outfits and the characters were very nicely developed and relatable more than I thought. However it was kind of hard to follow at times and since the story was a bit complicated to understand it made it hard for me to watch more than 1 or 2 episodes at a time... Maybe I am too used to watch anime that are aimed at a younger audience though. ^w^''

Overall I give Pandora Hearts a rating of 7 out of 10!

I hope you liked my anime review! ~ I am currently watching longer anime series but I have a few shorter series that I'm watching that I'm planning to review in the next few months so if you like my anime reviews keep your eyes open for that! ^w^

Anime Review! ~ Suite Precure!

Hello my cute little melodies! ~

I'm back on my blog today with an anime review! :3 I've pretty much binge watched Suite Precure in the last two months because I loved it so much and the Prince started to watch it with me! XD; Last time I watched a Precure series so fast was probably back when I was watching the first two seasons honestly. ^w^'' I'm looking forward to write this review today, I will try to not say any major spoilers. ~

Suite Precure

Suite Precure is the 8th season of the Precure series, it aired in 2011-2012 and it have 48 episodes and a movie! ~ As I usually mention when I review the Precure series, I watch them in the order that they were released (which I may think it is relevant for my review? XD;). The theme of this series is music! ^w^

Story

The story starts with Hibiki and Kanade, two girls that grew up together in Kanon town. They have different hobbies but they are also connected through music. One day, they meet Hummy which is sent from Major Land to collect the notes to form the Melody of Happiness so she can sing it so everyone can be happy. ~ But there is also the villains from Minor Land who also want to collect the notes to form the Melody of Sorrow and makes everyone sad.

I think the story was nicely developed but the plot seemed a little all over the place at the end. There was quite a lot of things that were "unexpected", some of them were developed nicely and others were... meh. ^w^'' I felt like they were trying to stretch out the series at the very end and during the final battles.

Art

The art style is pretty similar to the one they used in HeartCatch Precure. I didn't see a lot of striking differences between the two. Their transformation scenes are lovely and detailed nicely as always. ~ Their attacks is one of the force of the series I think, they are so beautiful! *o* Each time they would do their attacks I was looking forward to see the animation because it's just too pretty. XD;

Sound

I really loved the cute music used in the series, which is to be expected since the theme was music. ^w^ The endings were a little more catchy than the opening but I feel like this is a recurring thing in the Precure series. Some of the songs that they sang and played were so beautiful and good they almost made me cry. ;o; I also think the voice actors were nicely fitting, none of them seemed annoying or "off" to me. ~

Characters

The characters are probably the biggest force of Suite Precure! They were so nicely developed and unlike I've been used to in the previous Precure series, they are not unidimensional. I think that Siren is the one that is the most developed. I was a little angry to see how things were going for her at first but she is one of the characters I liked the most at the end. Ako, the fourth Precure was also introduced later in the series but I really didn't like her personality in the first half of the series... I knew that her presence as a cure was crucial but they could have introduced it better in the first half of the series I think. I also thought that the villains were only minions at first, which they kind of were, but I felt like their personality was lacking up until the very end of the series too. I knew that they wanted to make it kind of a cliffhanger but they could have done a bit better in the beginning of the series.

Enjoyment

I really, really, really enjoyed Suite Precure! I don't want to say that it's my favourite series since I didn't watch them all, but it's definitely in my Top 3! The way that they developed the characters was so interesting, there was a lot of deeper and emotional moments at the end which is always something I like! I also want to mention that the Prince also liked the series, especially their fighting style and he stayed for the plot development and all the cliffhangers, haha. XD;

Overall, I give Suite Precure 9 out of 10!

I hope you liked my little anime review! ^w^ I always don't really know how to do those since I don't want to say spoilers as much as possible but it's kind of hard... XD;

Until next time my pretty blue sparkles! ~

Anime Review! ~ Yuri!!! On Ice

Hello my pretty little sparkly puppies! ~

I'm back on my blog with an anime review! ^w^ I haven't done these in a long while! Not because I'm not watching anime anymore but most of the anime that I'm watching are longer series that will take me forever to complete... ^w^'' But today I decided to review an anime I finished a couple weeks ago; Yuri On Ice!

Yuri!!! On Ice

Yuri On Ice is a sports anime themed around skating. It aired in Fall 2016 and it's 12 episode long. It's the very first anime of the sports genre that I watch and it was very much recommended to me by a lot of my friends so I decided to give it a go! ^w^

Story

In this anime, you follow the story of Yuri Katsuki and his journey into getting back on track with skating competitions with his coach Viktor Nikiforov, which is also a skating champion from Russia, by his side to help him. I think that even if it's a sport anime, it doesn't feel like it was to me... I feel like it was only a pretext to make the characters develop on something and have a common goal. Even if the anime is only 12 episodes long, I didn't feel like it was too fast paced. The story unfolds promptly but I didn't feel like it was rushed like I usually feel with shorter animes like this.

Art

This kind of art style was definitely new for me, I am very much used to a very cute drawing style when it comes to anime art style and animation. It did bother me a bit at first but it felt refreshing for me. Also, I think the art style really suits the style of the anime and the characters overall. The skating scenes were lacking a bit in the animation department I think, they weren't as fluid as it could have been.

Sound

I wasn't really expecting this kind of soundtrack from a sports anime. I think that the music really suited the scenes perfectly, it made the emphasis on the emotions from the characters and I really liked it! For the voices, I think that some of them were okay but for a few of the characters I think it didn't really suit their personalities as well as it could... I feel like some of them were't "matching" with their voice, their tone and their expressions and it made me a bit irritated... XD;

Characters

The characters in Yuri On Ice are the main strong point of this anime according to me! The character personalities and developpement in this anime is so strong. I must admit that some of the scenes made me cry a lot... ^w^'' You can feel Yuri and Viktor grow trough the anime and how their relationship develop over time. I was expecting a cheesy romance anime that is hidden as a sports anime but it's much more than that. It's very hard to explain if you haven't watched it but the character developpement in this anime is not comparable to anything I've ever seen.

Enjoyment

To my surprise I really like this anime much much more than what I thought I would! I watched it mainly because if the hype around it but I found myself really attached to the story and the characters.

Overall, I give Yuri On Ice a 8 out of 10!

I hope that you liked my little anime review! ~ If you haven't jumped on the Yuri On Ice trend yet I really recommend you watch it, even if you aren't into romance or sports anime! :3

Until next time my swirly cinnamon buns! ~

Cocoa Nendoroid Figure Showcase! ~

Hello my cutesy frilly neckbows! :3

Today I decided to do a kind of post I haven't really done before! ^w^ As I mentioned in my SagGeek haul, I wanted to make a post showing the different poses of my Cocoa figure that I got there. :3

Here it is, on all it's glory with all the accessories that came with her! ^w^

It's a Nendoroid figure made by Good Smile Company and you can pose her so many ways you want! All the parts are removable; Her face, head, arms, hands, legs, etc... That way you can reproduce the poses that are shown on the box, but you can also be creative and make your own poses too! ~

For the sake of my blog post, I decided to have fun reproducing the poses that are shown on the box. :3

The first one I did was the "regular" pose I think. XD; It's her normal smiley face with her arms on the side. ~

The second one I did was her signature pose with her serving plate with a cup of coffee (or Hot Cocoa?). ^w^ This was one of my favourite poses. :3

The next one I did was this cute little pose with her dog ears and dog tail! ;o; Isn't she so adorable? :3

The fun thing about this pose is that you can place her little tail over or under her skirt for a slight variation of her pose. ~ It was so hard to place that tail correctly though, it kept falling off. ;w;

I also did the pose with Tippy! :3

Even for an accessory, it is so detailed! You can even see the little "holes" for her hands to sit when she holds him! ^w^

I did her pose with her cute pink camera! :3 There is a Shino figure on the box that would match Cocoa with this pose too! (I really wish I could have the Shino figure too! ;o;)

Finally, I did her "strong woman" pose! XD; I really love this pose, she looks so cute while rolling up that sleeve! ^w^

I enjoyed to explore the different poses of my Cocoa figure a lot! ^w^ While it was a bit hard to find the right arms and angles for the poses, it was worth it! ~ It's like having a bunch of different figures in one! :3

Until next time my perfectly sweetened cups of coffee! ^w^
