SagGeek 2017 Review! ~ Saturday July 22th!

Hello my sweetest strawberry pies! ~

I'm back again my blog today for the review of the second day of the SagGeek which is a anime/geek convention that happened in my city last week! ^w^

Saturday was kinda the biggest day of the convention and a lot of people came! There was also a lot of activities to do which was pretty nice. ~

I went as a Neko-Maid on that day which is kinda my OC named Tomo-Nyan! XD; I was waiting for the perfect occasion to wear this outfit out so I was super happy to wear it on that day. ^w^ (I also got a cute cat tail which you can't see. ^w^'')

I also got lots of outfit pictures with Julie and my Prince. ^w^

Julie was dressed up as an elegant butler. :3

We went at Francis's panel about some various trivia from tv series, movies, video games etc... We learned a lot of things and a lot of them surprised me! ^w^ It was a nice panel, I liked it a lot. ~

After that I decided to hit up the dance mat in the gaming room and play Dance Dance Revolution! XD;

After that we were a little bit hungry so we got bubble tea and onigiris for lunch. :3

After our meal, we were totally stuffed. XD;

After that, we spent some time walking around the convention and looking at the cosplayers and the dealer's room again. ~ I also made new friends! ^w^

I met a very cute Chi cosplayer and she was super nice and friendly too! :3 I saw her during last year's SagGeek but I was too shy to ask for a picture with her. ~v~ Now I got my picture and we became friends, yay! XD;

We also went to see the mascarade! I didn't get a lot of pictures of the cosplayers because there was so few from animes that I knew and that I liked and almost all my pictures were bad. ;w; But I snapped a couple of picture of my friend Mel's cosplay! ~

My terrible pictures doesn't do her cosplay it's justice, it's muuuuch more prettier in real life I swear. ^w^''

One thing that did bother me a lot about the mascarade is that even if most of the people that entered had store bought cosplays, they were classed in the novice category... Which isn't supposed to happen in an official mascarade... All the people who didn't made their cosplay by hand should be in the standout category, not with the novice that made their cosplay. X__X I think that some of the cosplayers who put some time and effort in their handmade cosplays didn't won a prize because of this and it made me super mad/angry. XD; Oh well...

Right after the mascarade I went to Mel's panel about cosplay! ^w^ It was super interesting and I learned and discovered a lot of things, I didn't know that cosplaying and making your own cosplay could take that much skills and efforts, even on a single piece. ^o^ I was super impressed. ~

After that it was time to go home! (I had to get a good night of sleep because my panel was on Sunday morning! OwO) So that was my second day of the SagGeek 2017! Stay tuned for my Sunday review and what I bought in the dealer's room! :3

SagGeek 2017 Review! ~ Friday July 21th!

Hello my sweet little unicorn plushies! ~

As you may know, last weekend was the SagGeek which is a anime/geek convention in my city. :3 I went to it last year but it was their first time so it wasn't as big as this year! XD; This edition, the SagGeek started to look like an actual convention which was very impressing. :3

I thought I didn't had enough photos to do a blog post with pictures/activities from each day of the convention but I have quite a lot in the end. XD; So I'll do the reviews of Saturday and Sunday in other posts! ^w^

The convention was opening only at 3pm so I had time to get ready and to dress up at home before heading up for the convention centre. :3

Here was my outfit for the first day of the SagGeek!

I decided to wear something quite comfy and simple for the first day of the convention since I knew there wasn't going to have a lot of people dressed up. XD; So I paired my Star Night Theatre dress with my red blouse, a red bag and red shoes along with matching pony socks, tulle and stars accessories for a dreamy and elegant look. ~

I also took an outfit shot of my friend Julie which came from faraway to Saguenay for the convention (and to see her friends, of course). :3

I really love that dress of hers. *v* And she coordinated it beautifully. ~

We also took a couple of pictures together. :3

After that, we went to the convention centre. ~

Friday was probably the most relaxing day of the convention weekend as there wasn't so many activities to do. ^w^'' We took the time to see where everything was located and look at the dealer's room for the nice things they had to sell. :3

We also saw/met a lot of our friends, new or old and the convention. ~

My friend Catherine and I, which I knew from my Lolita group but we haven't talked a lot before. ^w^ I was so happy to meet her, finally! ~

I also took an outfit picture of my friend Claudia's outfit, because I think it was a great example of a beginner Lolita outfit done with elements you can find mostly in thrift shops/mainstream stores. ~

After a little visit of the convention, I went to Renée's house for some tea and to unwind a little. (She lives super close to the convention centre. ^w^) And I waited for the Prince there. ~

The Prince joined us a little bit later and we visited the convention together. :3 He had a mango bubble tea which was super delicious. ~ We also chatted with our friends for a little while before going back home when the convention closed. ^w^''

I've been incredibly busy during the last few weeks! I've been trying my best to prepare my panel for the SagGeek which is next week! ^w^ Also, my health isn't the best lately so I have to take most of my free time to rest... ;w; Which resulted in a little slow down for my blog, I'm sorry. ^w^''

I got inspired by the colours of the canadian flag for my outfit on that day. XD; I didn't know what to wear at all and I wasn't inspired. ^w^'' I love the combo of red and white, I think it look very elegant, especially with that skirt. :3

I was waiting for a sunny day to wear Country Lolita. ~ I've wanted to coordinate my new blue blouse with that skirt for so long. :3 I love how it turned out. ^w^ I think strawberries, red and blue are one of my favourite colour/theme combo. ~

A more simple outfit with a dress I haven't worn in a while. ^w^ I love coordinating my Cherry Berry Bunny jumperskirt with pink because I think it really complements the border print. ~

Anime Review! ~ Miss Monochrome: The Animation!

Hello my cutest fluffy kittens!

Today I decided to continue a little blog series that I started on here a while ago, anime reviews! :3 I recently finished the mini anime Miss Monochrome, so I decided to write a review for it since I enjoyed it quite a lot! ^w^

Miss Monochrome Review!

Miss Monochrome is a mini anime series which have 3 seasons of 13 episodes each. The episodes are 3 minutes long for the first season and 5 minutes long for the second and third season. ~

Story

This is the story of Miss Monochrome, an android which is an aspiring idol. She want to stand out more and more in the idol world; so we follow her journey along with her robot Ruu-chan into becoming a super idol. It's a very lighthearted and funny anime. Sometimes things can go bad or have unexpected turn of events but the situation always get resolved in the end.

Art

The art style to me was very typical for a modern anime. There's noting that really bothered me with the animation scenes which have nice effects sometimes, especially when she does concerts and/or dances. The backgrounds is sometimes a little bit minimalistic but nothing that made me not enjoy the art or animation. The opening and ending were dances and were also beautifully drawn and animated.

Sound

I really liked the sounds used in this anime which are mostly Miss Monochrome songs that you can hear in the background. The voice from the main characters also suits their personalities a lot! Miss Monochrome have really an original android voice which is something I really liked! The voices from the characters have also a lot of tone in them so you can really grasp their emotions though the situations.

Characters

As usual when there's a mini anime you don't get to have a lot of character developpement which is something that I was expecting. I am glad that they made a second and third season for that reason, I wanted to get to know the characters more! Most of them have quite stereotypical personalities though which made the story kind of predictable at times and to be honest this was probably my biggest disappointment with this anime.

Enjoyment

I personally enjoyed this anime on many points! I love idol animes and I had never seen an anime like that before. As I said earlier it's a lighthearted anime that made me smile, laugh and it even made my cry sometimes. ;o; My favourite points were the dances, the voices and the songs. I wish the characters wouldn't be so stereotypical though, it would made me enjoy the anime more!

Overall I give Miss Monochrome a rating of 7.5 out of 10!
