Lolita Blog Carnival! ~ Things You Have Learned About Yourself While In The Fashion This Year!

Hello my cute cherry pies! ~

I'm taking a small break from my Blogmas posting because I decided to participate in the Lolita Blog Carnival from this week! The subject was very interesting to me and I thought I had a lot to share about it so here we go. :3

Things You Have Learned About Yourself While In The Fashion This Year!

Firstly, I thought it would be useful to make a little preface before getting into the main subject...

In 2013 or 2014, I kind of decided to leave Lolita communities all together. I stopped going to Lolita meetups in my province, I stopped participating to forums or communities online and I even unfriended most of the Lolitas I had on my Facebook. I did this because I thought that the Lolita communities in general were doing me more harm than good. I really did felt like the ugly duckling whenever I went to meetups or when I posted online... It left me feeling sad and bitter about it. I knew it wasn't the fashion itself, but the people I shared it with. So I decided to leave the Lolita communities... Until this year.

This year, I learned I could host a panel on Lolita fashion at a local geek convention!

In July I hosted my very first panel ever at a convention and it was a panel about Lolita Fashion 101. I was way too stressed as it was the first time ever I putted together an explanatory panel about the fashion and I was doubting about myself a lot. Despite being in the fashion for so long, I did left the communities a while ago and I didn't really kept up to date with the trends as they were less interesting to me... But I was very proud of myself for doing it at all! ~ In the end, I only really wished to share my knowledge and so people in my city could understand the fashion a little bit better, but I got a few people interested in the fashion, which was a lot more than what I hoped for! ^w^

This year, I learned I could host meetups with Lolitas in my own city!

It's closely related to the previous one, but it really felt surreal to me at first! ^^'' I felt like I could never meet other Lolitas until I traveled for several hours away in bigger cities. But after giving my panel on Lolita fashion, it felt right to start hosting Lolita meetups with the few Lolitas from my city even if we aren't a big group and even if some of them are beginners. The people in my local community are truly kind, polite, welcoming and we are a generally drama-free community for now. It changed my perception of Lolita communities a lot, as it was the first time I felt truly happy and safe during Lolita meetups. For once I felt like I belonged somewhere... There was no elitism, no judging, no gossips... Only frillies enjoying their clothes and doing activities together. :3

This year, I learned I could be a good Lolita blogger!

Of course, my experience with my panel and my local Lolita community did gave me a huge confidence boost with that! I decided to take my blogging more seriously, by posting more regularly and being more organized, like a true blogger! ^w^ I also gathered the confidence to join the Lolita Blog Carnival community this year which I am very thankful for! I love putting my heart and soul into everything I do, and this blog is the proof that I don't do it for nothing as it leave me with a powerful feeling of accomplishment and I am very proud about it. :3

This year, I learned to love and embrace the social aspects of Lolita fashion again!

It's pretty self-explanatory. :3 It was a year of change for me in general, in my personal life, as I learned a lot about my limits... But I also learned about my capacities; what I could do and more importantly what I liked to do. Sometimes, life puts you in situations you don't like and that doesn't feel right... But when you stop and think about what you truly enjoy and what can bring you happiness and positive vibes and you move towards that as your goal, it gets so much better. ^w^

Please, take a look at other blogs that have participated in this Lolita Blog Carnival and go give them some love! :3

Until next time my pretty pearly kitty ornaments! ^w^

❆ Blogmas! ❆ ~ Christmas Weekend in my Hometown! :3

Hello my sweetest cups of Chai tea! ~

I'm back on my blog today for another Blogmas post! ^w^ I went to my hometown this weekend to celebrate Christmas with my family and I took a couple of pictures during our trip so I decided to share it here on my blog! :3 This post will be a little more casual, like my old blogging style, so I hope you'll enjoy it! ^w^

As I said in my last post, I have a conjunctivitis so I do look sick and I also couldn't wear makeup so I obviously don't look my best in most of the pictures, but I wanted to share them anyway. ~

I got a little outfit picture before leaving for my hometown. :3

~ Outfit from December 23th! ~

Comfy casual outfit to drive to my hometown. ~

Headbow; Momo & Jia
Blouse; Oo Jia
Skirt; Oo Jia
Socks; Secret Shop
Bag; Loris
Accessories; Sugar Raindrops, Rococo Soul & Offbrand

I really liked my outfit on that day! ~ I really love pairing lilac and blue together, I think it's a very pretty colour combo. :3

We left our little castle at the beginning of the afternoon and we went for a small lunch at Tim Hortons before taking the road! ~

I had a yummy mint & caramel mocha. <3 So festive! ^w^

The road to my hometown was... so bad! XD; It usually takes about 5 hours to drive to my hometown, but this time it took us nearly 8 hours. ^w^'' There was a huge snowstorm and the roads were horrible so I had to drive super slow. ~w~'' But at least we arrived to my dad's home safe and sound! :3

When we arrived I was super tired and I went to sleep almost immediately. ^w^'' But I had the chance to snap a couple of pictures of one of the stray cats my dad is feeding. :3

She came home eating way later then usual. ~

When I woke up the next morning, I felt so calm and peaceful. :3 My hometown is the most quiet and quaint place on earth. ^^

My dad's backyard the morning after the snowstorm. ~

I got ready and asked the Prince to snap a couple outfit pictures for me. :3

Blouse; Dear Celine
Jumperskirt; Anna House
Socks; Bodyline
Bag; Loris
Accessories; Holley Tea Time & Paradise Rose

I went for something festive! :3 I coordinated my red jumperskirt with white but also some little bits of pink for more creative and fun touch. ~

Alexou and I decided to meet up for brunch at the Manoir du Café. :3 (It's kind of a tradition for us now I guess. XD)

Of course the Prince came with us too! ~

I really love the food at the Manoir du Café, and it's not so expensive too! ^w^ I had a cute flower-shaped strawberry waffle which was delicious. :3

We ate and chatted a lot together. ~ I always have a nice time with my friend Alexou and I am very grateful I could spend time with her on my trip! ^w^

The Prince and I went back home after and we were kind of impatient to open our gifts! XD; So we exchanged our firsts gifts before the dinner. ~

I got the Prince a Quidditch mug and some Slytherin socks! ^w^ He was so happy, yay! ~

The Prince also gave me a gift... But I won't show what's inside yet since I plan to do another huge Blogmas post with all the gifts I received! ^w^

We went to eat dinner at my Grandparent's house together. ~

The Prince wore his wine red shirt! ~ I really love when we wear kind of matching clothes. XD;

When we came back home after the meal I was a bit impatient to open another gift and the Prince too! ^w^ So we decided to exchange another gift before going to bed. :3

I got the Prince a little Frodo Baggins pop figure! :3 He was super happy as it's his first Lord of the Ring merch item! ^w^

When we woke up the next morning... it was Christmas! ^o^/ We slipped in our ugly sweaters and opened the rest of our gifts! ~

Obligatory ugly sweater couple selfies! :3

I can only say that the Prince offered me such amazing gifts and I am super grateful! ^w^

As last gifts I offered the Prince two of his favourite PS2 games (that he was asking for since he got a PS2 for his birthday!) and I also got him some fancy Earl Grey tea from la Théière à l'Envers. ~ Earl Grey is his favourite tea blend! ^w^

We mainly relaxed a lot on Christmas day since we only had a dinner at my Grandma's place later in the day. :3 (I got the chance to take a super relaxing bath in my dad's huge bathtub! *o*)

The Prince also snapped some pictures of my outfit before going out for dinner. ~

~ Outfit from December 25th! ~

Christmas dinner outfit. :3

Headbow; Fan Plus Friend
Blouse; Oo Jia
Jumperskirt; Momo & Jia
Socks; Bodyline
Bag; Loris
Wristcuffs; Chiichick
Accessories; Paradise Rose

I went for a Snow Fairy theme in white and blue with my outfit for Christmas as I always tend to go for red usually and I wanted to change. ^w^ I went for dotted socks as a reminder of snow. ~ Also wore roses accessories and tulle wristcuffs to match the elegance of the dress. :3

The Prince wore his light blue shirt to match with me again! ^w^

After the Christmas dinner I was so exhausted and I really needed to rest since I had to drive back home the day after so I went to sleep kind of early. ~

I didn't get pictures from the day we came back home since I got dressed in my more casual clothes and we didn't do anything exciting except packing up and saying goodbye to family. ~ I had a really nice Christmas weekend, I enjoyed the gifts I received a lot and I feel very thankful and happy. :3

Until next time my fluffy polar bears! ~

❆ Blogmas! ❆ ~ Wrapping Presents & Baking Gingerbread Cookies! ^w^

Hello my sugary sprinkle donuts! ^w^

Today I decided to share two other Holiday activities I've been doing during the last few days before Christmas! ~ I'm glad to be able to blog about it and to enjoy this Holiday season a lot more than ever! :3

I really love wrapping presents, for birthdays but especially for Holidays. :3 I find it such a therapeutic activity; Choosing the packaging, the colours, the wrapping paper, the ribbons... I like when my presents match nicely and look pretty. :3

I like to make myself believe that I am kinda good at wrapping presents. ^w^'' I like when the wrapping paper is folded all straight and neat. ~ (Maybe that's why I like using striped paper so much? XD)

These are the Prince's presents. ^w^ I've only wrapped presents for him this year. Our family holiday party is later at the end of December and I'm going to make and bake their presents later next week with the Prince so they are fresh and delicious... :3

Speaking of delicious things... I've baked some gingerbread cookies as a taste-test yesterday! ^w^

They don't look perfect, but they are soooo yummy! ~

This is a part of the small gift the Prince and I plan to give to his family this year. :3 We decided to do something a little more DIY and personal. ^w^ It's the first year I decided to trust myself enough to actually make something to give to people that isn't a joke or mandatory... XD; I feel proud of myself. ^w^

Now, I'm off to go to my hometown today! ~ I planned to take lots of pictures for my blog, but I don't know how much I'll keep up to that since I have a conjunctivitis and I basically look like Gollum right now. ^w^'' (And I also cannot wear makeup, boo! TwT) I'll try my best to take pictures at least a little bit anyway. ;o;

Until next time my sweet fruity rainbow marshmallows! ~ I wish you all a Merry Christmas! :3
