Why don't I wear Lolita more often?

Hello my sweet strawberry buns!

Today I decided to write a little article with another subject taken randomly from the Lolita Challenge! :3 (This is kinda hard to apply this subject to me but I thought I would give it a try anyway. XD)

Why don't I wear Lolita more often?

Well, it would be kinda hard to wear Lolita more often for me, because I wear it mostly everyday. ^w^'' I wear it to work, I wore it to school, I wear it to run errands, I wear it to go out, for special events and for my everyday life. But that being said, it's true that I don't wear Lolita every single day! *Gasp!*

The first reason, which happens the most often, is that I don't really dress up if I am not going anywhere and if I'm just staying at home to watch anime and play videogames all day. XD; On these days, I will usually dress super casually in a comfy t-shirt, blouse or sweater and one of my handmade skirts, which result into outfits that are more on the Otome side. Also for colder days I will just stay in my kigurumi all day so I can be comfy and cute. ~3~ On very hot summer days I will also just wear a t-shirt and wear my bloomers as pants. ^w^'' #MostEmbarrassingBehaviour But if I am going out, I'll wear actual proper clothes, don't worry! XD;

The second reason is that Lolita fashion isn't the only alternative fashion I'm interested in! I also do wear Fairy-Kei too! :3 I wear it a lot less since it's not super practical to wear at work for me (as the skirts are shorter) but I do try to wear it quite often too, especially on days where I'm not going to work and I am going out! ~

It's true that I could wear Lolita more often if I would wear the fashion on days where I don't dress up, but as my clothes are very precious for me I try to wear them only when I go out so they get a little less worn out and I can space up the laundry a little bit. ^w^''

Until next time my sweet sugary raspberries! :3

Summer Favourites! ~

Hello my cuddly kittens! :3

Today I wanted to share some summer favourites with you! This summer is coming to an end (at least where I live it's been quite cold lately) and I wanted to make a blog post about some things I really enjoyed this summer. ^w^

There will be some clothes, accessories, makeup, video games, food and general lifestyle stuff! I tried to make is as varied as possible! ~

My new blue blouse from Oo Jia

I love that blouse to bits, it's simply perfect! ~ I've received it during the end of spring, and I've worn it almost every week since then. XD; I goes so great with so many of my prints, it's comfortable and the quality is amazing. :3

My Lovely Forest jumperskirt from Dream of Lolita

I think that every summer I fall back in love with that jumperskirt. ^w^'' I first got it because I wanted to wear some kind of Sweet-classic Lolita, but I found out that it's one of my jumperskirt that matches the Country Lolita aesthetics the best! Maybe it's the brown/cream details on the print? I've been wearing it a lot this summer as it's a very comfortable, simple and versatile piece in my closet. ~

My white and pink heart necklace from Holley Tea Time

I forgot about this necklace for a while at the beginning of the year, but I rediscovered it this summer and I've worn it quite a lot with my outfits. I love that it's a simple necklace, but it have that sparkly iridescent glitters in it that makes it special. I love it a lot! :3

My flawless skin concealer from Yves Rocher

It was probably the first season that I used this concealer to it's true potential! I've always been using either just BB cream for daily makeup or concealer and BB cream for special occasions. But this summer I got tired of my face being all shiny and sweaty because of the BB cream I would apply everyday, so I started using only this concealer around my eyes to cover my enormous dark circles. ^w^'' At first I thought it would look weird with my pale skin without any BB cream, but it blended to my skintone very well and since this concealer is a lot less moisturizing than BB cream, my face wasn't shiny anymore, yay! ^w^

Animal Crossing New Leaf

I restarted to play Animal Crossing almost everyday this summer! :3 I missed that game a lot so it was nice to start playing regularly again. ~ Also, I finally got the badge for playing over 500 hours! I've been playing this game for almost 4 years so I was super happy to finally receive it! XD;

The Chobits Manga

My very kind friend Jen let me borrow her Chobits mangas so I could read it! It have been my bedtime reading this month! I've really liked the anime that I watched a couple years ago, but I feel like the manga is a little bit better. ~ I haven't finished reading it yet, but I really enjoy reading a couple of chapters of this manga before bed in the evening to help me relax. :3

Pusheen

I've always liked Pusheen a lot, but this summer I really fell back in love with her! :3 I've joined a facebook group to talk about Pusheen plushies and it have brightened my summer so much! I can't wait to expand my Pusheen merch collection! *v*

Bullet Journaling

Some of you may know about this, but I haven't really talked about it publicly anywhere. XD; I started bullet journaling this summer! I'm really loving the system and it always gets me motivated to accomplish things everyday. :3 It's also useful to keep track of my dailies, help me practice gratitude and self-care. <3 I really love it and I hope I can get proper bullet journal supplies in the future! :3

Local Strawberries

Probably one of my favourite reasons to enjoy summer here! XD; The strawberries from the Orléans island are the most delicious, sweet and flavorful strawberries ever! <3 I've been enjoying a huge bowl of fresh local strawberries with almost every breakfast this summer. ^w^''

Tim Hortons Pink Lemonade

One of my favourites drinks this summer! I've been getting a large pink lemonade as a weekend treat almost every weekend this summer. :3

My Friends

The last but not the least! I've been really thankful this summer to be surrounded by such wonderful people. :3 With my friend Valentin who came to visit from France, my friend Sophie and my friend Francis birthdays, the SagGeek and the awesome Lolita & Ouji meeting, I've been totally blessed to have such loving, supportive and generally awesome people in my life! <3 Thanks to all my friends, close or far away for being a part of my little world! ~

I really enjoyed to write this type of blog post, it helped me to reflect on all the nice things this summer brought to me! It's nice sometimes to review the past a little just so you can appreciate the future more! ^w^

Until next time my sweet strawberry cupcakes! :3

How strangers react to my clothes and how I react to their reactions.

Hello my cutest frilly puppies! ~

Today I wanted to pick up a random subject from the 52 Lolita Challenge that I mentioned a while ago! These are more like subjects I want to blog about when I feel like it rather than real challenge. XD But it gives me some inspiration for subjects to write! ~

The subject that was drawn today was...

How strangers react to my clothes and how I react to their reactions.

I would say that I encountered a lot of different reactions from strangers in my 8 years of wearing the fashion! It depends a lot on what you are doing, where you are, with who you are and even your attitude also.

I've lived in a very small rural city in the deep forest for about half the time, when I've first started to wear the fashion, and I now live in a regular sized city (but still far away from the bigger cities in my province). I would say that the reactions are drastically different depending on which place I've been.

When I was in my hometown, most of the people would stare at me, but they would very seldom make comments about my clothes, positive or negative. If I caught them staring, they would look away instantly or simply smile kindly to me. A good majority of the very few comments I got about my clothes were positive. They didn't really ask any questions to me about my style or anything, I was mainly left alone by people the great majority of the time. Since it was a smaller city, people would get used to me wearing the fashion or would recognize me (since I tend to go at the same shops/restaurants in general) and I would say that when I was wearing the fashion out and about for about a year, people wouldn't even stare at me anymore. The situation wasn't different when I was in college also.

Now that I live here in Saguenay, the situation is quite a bit different. I get a lot of stares but even when I catch people staring at me, they won't stop staring or they make a "I don't know what I'm doing wrong" face. Most of the time when I go out and I am visibly alone, people will come and talk to me a little bit in a rude/confronting way and will always ask me questions about my clothes. They don't make a lot of comments and most of them are fairly positive, but they will almost always ask questions or try to start a conversation with me even if I am visibly busy/in a hurry. I've had people following me around stores trying to talk to me about my clothes while I said I wasn't interested in talking/answering questions and that I was busy... They also have no understanding of personal space; people often grab my clothes, accessories or hair and when I express that I don't want to be touched by strangers they always get so confused as why is it wrong. XD; I also get my picture taken sneakily a lot of the time, so much that I stopped caring about that now or I just cover my face so they understand I don't want my picture taken. These situations mostly happen when I am alone though, whenever I am with friends or my Prince these don't really happen or it happen waaaay less often. There are also places that are more "Lolita friendly", like artistic cafés, asian restaurants or alternative fashion boutiques. As for when I was in university, it was kinda different too. I was mostly left alone and people won't often come and talk to me and if they did, they would ask very polite questions or make very positive comments.

Of course even if I have less positive experiences of wearing the fashion here doesn't mean I'm going to stop, but of course I tend to chose more carefully the places I go to and the people I would hang out with so I feel safer. ~

Until next time my soft heart shaped cookies! :3

Also, it seems like I had some difficulties with my camera and lighting this week... So they might not be the best quality, I'm sorry. ^w^''

I didn't get enough of the white and lilac combo so I kept the same colour scheme for this outfit too! I thought it would be fun to coordinate it with white and pink accessories so I chose a white and pink necklace, bracelet and socks. :3 I really love that necklace, it's so versatile! ~

That was my outfits for this week! :3 I didn't get to do anything special over the weekend so you only get boring workdays outfits this time, sorry. XD; Until next time, take care my sweet puppy surprises! ^w^
