Anime Review! ~ Nichijou!

Hello my sweet lemon muffins! ~

I'm back on my blog today with another anime review! I started to have a little more time on my hands since summer is over and I started watching anime more often again. :3 This time, I'm going to review the anime Nichijou. ~

Nichijou

Nichijou is an anime of a single season of 26 episodes. ~ I decided to watch it since my anime club have watched it in the past and also it was strongly recommended by some of my friends, so I gave it a try! ^w^

Story

Nichijou is a slice of life/school life anime. Like most of slice of life anime, there isn't really any continuous story or plot which doesn't bother me at all, I usually enjoy slice of life animes! :3 We just follow the adventures of a group of school friends doing not so ordinary things. ^w^'' There is a slight storyline but it isn't very defined or strict. It is supposed to be a funny and silly anime, but I didn't understand what was funny in some of the sketches sometimes and it was hard for me to enjoy them all. I smiled and laughed a some parts, but for a anime that is more on the comedy side, I was expecting to laugh a little bit more. ^w^''

Art

I liked the art style and the animation, none of it would bother me which is always a plus for any anime considering I'm very picky. ^w^'' The characters, backgrounds and animations were made to be simple but also visually appealing too. The animations are sometimes in a different drawing style to add more emphasis of some parts of the story or to add humor sometimes.

Sound

I liked the background music and the voices of the characters, none of them seemed annoying to me. But I think they weren't different enough from characters to characters, they didn't seem to have the same voice actors for most of the characters so that bothered me that they would sound so similar. I also really hated the openings and the endings, the openings songs were too loud/crazy to me, and the ending songs were way too calm compared to the openings. ~w~''

Characters

This is where this anime have lost the most points and interest with me. I found that, even after several episodes, it was hard to differentiate the characters from each other, especially the girls. I could understand they were different and have different personalities, but with the exception of very obvious ones that are either a robot or very younger I couldn't differentiate them at all. It was hard for me to have a grasp of their personalities and quirks. It made some parts of the anime difficult to enjoy for me. ;w;

Enjoyment

Nichijou gets a kind of mixed review from me. As much as I enjoyed the art and the slight storyline through the anime, it was hard to enjoy it to it's true potential because of the characters which ended up seeming all the same to me. ;w; I would get bored sometimes because I didn't enjoy every sketch through the anime. I found that they probably could have kept this anime under 13 episodes, after the 16 or 17th episode I stated to get bored and done with it. ^w^'' But the ending episodes were kind of worth it after all. ~

Overall I give Nichijou a rating of 6 out of 10!

Until next time my blue raspberry lollipops! :3

How do I get out of a wardrobe slump?

Hello my fluffy puppies! ~

Today I wanted to share another part of my Lolita life with a subject picked up from the 52 Lolita Challenge! :3 The subject for today is...

How do I get out of a wardrobe slump?

A wardrobe slump is something that definitely happened to me in the past years. As most of you know, I do wear the fashion everyday and sometimes it may be hard to find inspirations for outfits everyday and still feel creative. ~w~

When I first started the fashion, I always felt like my outfits were always accessorized the same way since I had only a handful of accessories. I got out of this by adding more creative accessories to my more everyday and casual coordinates, espacially those busy and colourful accessories from Kawaii Goods, Chocomint, Holley Tea Time and Cute Can Kill! ^w^ I found out that even the smaller details would help to spice up my coordinates a little bit. ~ (And that's lowkey how I felt in love with OTT Sweet Lolita back in the days. XD)

The first bigger wardrobe slump I remember experiencing was 3 or 4 years ago. I would say that my closet is quite similar to what it was back then, but I didn't had that much of colour choices for my blouse and socks. I was feeling like my outfits would all look the same; Either a white or a pink blouse along with either white or pink socks and whatever jumperskirt or skirt I chose to wear that day. I did had a lot of different blouses and sleeves cuts, but my outfits would end up looking very similar to me and I didn't felt creative at all... So I decided I would add more colours to my closet for my blouses, socks and accessories. After a lot of thoughts, I added a new colour to my closet: Red! It was one of the colours that had the most outfit possibilities and wasn't in my closet except for some details on the prints of some of my pieces. So I got a red blouse, red shoes, a red bag and some red accessories to spice up my closet a little bit! ^w^ I was pretty happy with my choice, even if to me it was super bold and I wasn't comfortable to wear such a "darker" colour with my pastel pieces at first. I didn't felt the need to add something more to my closet for another year and a half.

Last year, I had the same observation as I had a couple years ago. I still felt like my outfits were always the same, every single day. I had this new colour in my closet, but I had no more new coordinates to wear with my new red blouse and I would felt bored. It didn't feel right anymore. So I decided to get two other colours for my blouses, but these colours were already in my closet! I got a few blue blouses and a lilac blouse too. :3 From this time, it really changed the way I do my coordinates now. I have a lot more creative possibilities for my outfits and I really like it! I didn't get bored with my closet since then so I guess it's a good thing! ^w^

Overall, the way I get out or a wardrobe slump is simply by getting more creative accessories to add to my outfits, add another new colour to my closet or get more "secondary" pieces and accessories from colours I already have in my closet. That was I can have more possibilities for my coordinates and I don't get bored of my outfits anymore. :3

I hope you enjoyed reading this little article and you learned something new from me or even tips for how to spice up your own closet. ~

Until next time my peachy gummy candies! ^w^

So that was my outfits for last week. :3 I hope you enjoyed to take a peek at them and they could maybe inspire you for your own daily outfits. ~

Until next time my sweet raspberry buns! :3

Saguenay's Lolitas Meeting! ~ September 2017!

Hello my fluffy bunnies! ~

Today I wanted to share what we did for this month's Lolita meeting in Saguenay which was last weekend. :3 It was the third time I hosted an official Lolita meeting in my city and I've been loving it a lot! ~

For this month's activities, we went to a tea house, went shopping and went to ate sushis. ^w^

Here was my outfit for the meetup! :3

~ Outfit from September 16th! ~

Headdress; Dream of Lolita
Blouse; Dear Celine
Jumperskirt; Dream of Lolita
Socks; Bodyline
Shoes; Bodyline
Bag; Loris
Accessories; Paradise Rose & Handmade

I decided to wear something super comfy and simple since I knew it was going to be a long day out shopping. ^w^ So I've worn my Lovely Forest jumperskirt with a pink blouse, pink socks and accessories themed around roses for an elegant touch. ~

This meetup was a little special for me... :3 I decided to bring the Prince along with me! We had to go shopping together anyway so I thought I would dress him up and invite him to the meetup with us! ^w^ We took some selfies together before going to the meetup! ~

My Prince never looked so elegant. *v* I was feeling so proud. ~

Our first activity was a little afternoon tea at the Théière a l'Envers tea house. :3 Only Erika could be there with us during the afternoon part of the meeting. ~

Here we are looking like very elegant ladies. :3

The Prince and I shared a teapot of Creamy Earl Grey tea and a very delicious veggie pâté plate along with some wild rice salad. ~ It was super delicious! ^w^

Erika also brought me my new Sushi Pusheen plushie that she kindly offered to grab me the other day, as they are super rare to find where I live. ^o^'' (You can see her on the table under the lamp! ^w^) I named her Susheen! :3

Erika and I had so much fun chatting about Lolita fashion and I got to give her lots of advice which is something I really like, it feels nice to be proud to share your knowledge with someone. ^w^

After our little afternoon tea, we went shopping downtown! ~ We went to a videogame store, an antique shop and a flea market.

I got a little flowery antique teacup at the antique shop. ~

We also went shopping to the mall too! We saw our friend Jennifer which couldn't be to the meeting with us since she had a dinner with her family. ;o; But I was super happy to see her! ^w^

After a great afternoon filled with shopping, we went to a Japanese restaurant, Aki Sushi! ~

Since this is the time where most of the members of the community could be there, I decided to take our outfits shots before the dinner. :3

Catherine in her lovely casual coordinate. ~ I really liked the contrast of the black and light blue. :3

Claudia in her perfectly coordinated Wa Lolita outfit! :3 She represented the style so perfectly! <3

Érika in her Elegant Gothic Lolita outfit! I liked her broaches a lot, they were antique broaches from her grandmother. :3

The Prince in his elegant outfit. :3 I really love that vest so much and I think it matches well with more regular shirts. ~

Francis in his ouji outfit! ~ I loved the sweet little neckbow and his hat! ^w^

Finally, me! XD; I looked a little bit tired after shopping all day. ^w^''

We were all starving after that, so we ordered our food! ~

I got a few hosomakis as an entrée. Susheen had fun posing with them. XD;

I was so happy to bring me new Susheen to a sushi restaurant, it was perfect. *v*

For the main course, I had some Chef's Choice sushis! ~ The sushis at Aki Sushi are always so yummy, it's hard for me to make a choice so I usually go with that option... which is also a little bit cheaper so I can get even more sushis for the price! ^w^

After eating basically our own weight in sushis, we were so stuffed. XD; But the meeting wasn't over without a group picture! :3

Here we are! ^w^ (Sorry the picture is a little blurry, the Prince took it for us and he wasn't feeling so well at the end of the night. ;o;)

After such a lovely meeting with my community, I felt really happy and proud! :3 I never thought I would have enough confidence in my capacity to host Lolita meetups regularly. I am feeling so happy to share my passion for Lolita fashion with my lovely community members which became very precious friends. ^w^ I can't wait for next meetup! ~

Until next time my squishy strawberry donuts! :3
